Last week Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens was under investigation after his ex-girlfriend accused him of trashing her apartment. Today comes word that Owens is not facing charges in the matter.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the case was dismissed after Owens and ex-girlfriend Latia Terry, who have a 9-month-old child together, agreed to work together to establish parental rights and shared parenting time.
“He’s is pleased that she decided to dismiss the case,” Owens’ lawyer Randall Kessler said. “He looks forward to working with her to raise their son together.”
Owens, who was named the Falcons’ Man of the Year at the end of the 2010 season, was a 2009 third-round draft pick who has played all 32 games in his two seasons with the Falcons.
