As said before…Just stating the facts.

One thing you can say about Cam. He’s a winner. He won in high school, won in Junior College and he won @ Auburn.

I disagree, that’s like the odds of a coin flip. If you flip the coin nine times and it comes up heads each time, the odds on the tenth flip are still 50/50

Similarly, if a black quarterback makes the Super Bowl this year, the results of the previous Super Bowls will have absolutely no effect on the outcome of the current one.

Newton went on to say “I have retired Hall Of Famers to bring race into the game for me.”.

Everybody wants to bash Vick but Roethlisberger gets a pass even though he was twice accused of rape? Well let’s take a realistic look at that, shall we?

Vick was guilty. He was caught red-handed–the red being the blood on his hands. There was a mountain of evidence and eyewitness testimony against him. And he confessed to heinous acts. Yet because of what some might consider prosecutorial misconduct, he did a limited stretch in prison given the scope of the crime. The NFL welcomed him back with open arms despite the public protests, and the media has crowned him the NFL’s new Golden Child.

Roethlisberger’s first accusation came a year after a one-night stand from a woman who never filed a police report but sued for $3 million. She sent time-stamped e-mails to friends the night of their one-nighter that conflict with her story and texts the following day saying how much she wanted to see him again. His Georgia accuser’s medical exam shows she didn’t have intercourse with anyone that night. Based on the statements of dozens of witnesses, it appears that whole thing was orchestrated by a sorority sister pissed off at being thrown out of the party. Roethlisberger has never even been arrested.

But the media reported only the salacious statements of those three sorority women rather than the actual case facts, and they never mention Roethlisberger’s name without saying he was twice accused of rape–as though the accusation makes it true. It doesn’t. His suspension was largely to appease an erroneous public perception of nonexistent guilt.

I have no problem giving Vick his second chance. But he did his crime. Roethlisberger didn’t but will forever carry the label anyway. You have a strange idea of what constitutes “a pass.”

When will we learn to wait and judge athletes on how they handle adversity? How many times did media try to tell us Randy Moss had changed…only to see the real Moss come out once he collided with adversity.

The problem with him, its been his actions off the field that tell the true story. The fact that he even brings up race is racial. If its not an issue don’t mention it.

As soon as he falls apart and doesn’t produce those words will change. there will be somone to blaim, there always is. Ditto MR Pryor as well.

There wasn’t one miraculous event that ended all racism. People just seem to want to ignore it.

The only racists I see outing themselves anymore are the ones who keep throwing down the race card every chance they get. It is sad and pathetic to be perfectly honest, and I am simply tired of hearing people constantly crying wolf when they don’t get exactly what they want.

As for Cam Newton, the issues people have with him stem from his behaviour in college and his wannabe rockstar status. The former could be chalked up to the stupidity of youth, but the latter is nothing but undeserved arrogance. Perhaps once Cam has a season or two under his belt playing at a pro level people will see him differently. Until then, he’ll be judged by what comes out of his mouth vs. what he actually accomplishes on the gridiron. In other words, Cam would be wise to keep his trap shut until he proves himself.

You ever think if you don’t see color you might not see the person? A lot of people are partially defined by their heritage and therefore the color of their skin. You ignore the color of their skin and for some you’re ignoring them.

Cam Newton is lying through his teeth. If he thinks he won’t bring race into the game. Everybody is looking to him to save the future of the black QB because we are a dying breed.
He may not want to bring it but its coming whether he likes it or not.

One sure thing about Newt, if that Neolithic Era jaw is moving, and those horse teeth are clacking, you know he is lying.

Say what you want, but that is the exact right answer to the question. So give credit where credit is due.

Let’s face it. Newton probably throws away more trim than all of us put together get. He looks like a movie star, is a great athlete, is going to be richer than midas and on top of all of that, sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and a good bit of common sense.

I’m hoping he succeeds big time. So long as he never beats the Packers.
