As a UFL fan, I would agree that “Major Signing” is a bit over the top. Even so, there is a lot to like about the UFL and having Pat White in a Destroyers uniform is just one more thing. Among other things the UFL provides an opportunity for players to improve at the pro level and I think Pat White is as deserving as any other recent NCAA star who didn’t quite “pan out” on their first go-round when jumping to the Pro level. On the Destroyers he will get first rate pro level coaching from guys with excellent NFL resumes. I wish Pat White and the Destroyers all the best, but as a Las Vegas fan I’ll still be cheering against them when they play my team. In October when the UFL season ends, presuming the NFL is back to work by then, who knows whether Pat White may be included in the average 40-50 UFL players picked up by NFL teams to help bolster their mid-season rosters. Either way, if he is ever to advance his pro career, I believe that he’s now in a place where he can have those questions answered.

Regardless of what you guys think of the UFL, it is cool that young players get a chance to be coached up by the likes of Marty, Jim Fassel, etc. and there’s always a chance they might get back into the NFL.
