You are applying way too much rationale to the market. The prices set for players -- via trade or f/a -- by lousy teams making yet another lousy decision. Probably not. That's why the drafted Shane Vereen. Carrying 5 backs is abnormal, so they won't be trading for a 5th unless they are seriously worried about their current group.

Regardless of his inconsistency as a starting RB, he's still as explosive as they come. Last time I checked, teams are using 2 and 3 back systems now a days and he could fit the "lightning" role in a system that many teams run. If he hits the market the guys gonna get 4-5mill a year. Like the guy above said hes still an explosive weapon as a receiver, RB in a RBBC system, punt returner and kick returner. Personally I'll take a shot in the dark and say Washington will go after him, although in FA not sure whether NO would trade him there.

Btw this is coming from a lions fan, bias-free...

“Bush would have to work out a new contract with another team…”

If Bush were willing to renegotiate his contract with a trade partner, NO should do better than a conditional third or fourth round pick. Worse players get traded for second rounders every year.

“Teams simply don’t give up draft picks for free when they know that player needs to be cut…”

Unless they know the free agency market will require they give up a lot more money to obtain him. Cap space can be more important than draft picks.

----------------------------------------------

doesnt matter what other players are getting, rbs dont command that much especially when they have missed 16 games in the last 3 seasons and have had microfracture sugery within those same 3 seasons.

2nd bush is not going to renegotiate a contract just to get traded, he would just refuse knowing he could test the open market and play where he wants. Most players who renegotiate their contract in order to get traded are not making close to 12 million dollars in that final year so they are looking for a any deal they can get bush because the present team they are on can keep them for that final year for cheap.

Reggie is a fringe player… he’s the kind of player that sprains his ankle in training camp and 2 weeks later is asking if youd like to supersize your meal-deal for another 99 cents.

he cant block
cant play special teams
sucks at short yardage
locker room cancer

bye bye reggie
_____

MORON ALERT!! MORON ALERT!!! Everybody hide your cats there is an idiot on the loose!

Ok first of all...supersize your meal-deal? WTF? This dood stays in spectacular shape all year round, are you confusing him with your girlfriend???
Can't play special teams? I guess you don't watch NFL football.
...and locker room cancer? Since when? Oh you're talking about tweeter and PFT and NFL Live? Yeah because those are definitely the center of the universe.. and have SOOO much bearing on what NFL players think, give me a break.
Next time you decide to open your mouth get a permission slip and a helmet, we don't want you to hurt yourself.

You're kidding. How could a guy with a $12.5 million option be tradeable? They're dreaming. Why would teams offer anything up for a guy that if the Saints can't re-negotiate, they can chop him. Makes no sense?

Besides....he's really just another guy. They're are other guys that can do what he does and all it would take is money to sign them.

I was hopping the Pats would grab DeAngelo but after the draft it looks like they filled that need.
If Bush won't take a decent paycut NO should sign DeAngelo and cut Bush. I think Payton would maximize Williams' talents big time. DW is very underrated as a pass receiver and despite his size, can run between the tackles. Bush with most other playcallers would have been not much of a contributor IMO. Payton is one of the best.

On the right team, Reggie Bush could be the difference maker. No matter that he's been inconsistent as a running back, he's still a home run hitter in three different areas. It is not out of the realm of possibility that he resigns with the Saints under more favorable terms.

There is no chance. All 32 teams would be interested in him as a free agent return man/ 3rd down back/ slot WR or whatever, but no one could justify his salary or trading for a player that is obviously going to get cut.
