Last month, we pointed out that Steelers minority owner Thomas Tull, the president and CEO of Legendary Pictures, was instrumental in the decision to film a large portion of the new Batman movie (OK, Dark Knight . . . sheesh) in Pittsburgh.

A reader points out that, applying a wafer-thin veil of secrecy, extras with extensive football experience are being sought for the film.

Filming will occur in early August, in Pittsburgh. Of course, there’s a chance that it’s not for the Batman movie. Indeed, it could be that there’s another blockbuster film that will be shot in Pittsburgh at the same time.

With the lockout still going on, it could be an easy way for some NFL players to pick up a quick paycheck.

Meanwhile, enjoy the only video we could find connecting Batman and football.
