It’s called “hyperbole”…as your hilarious example of Somalia, which is 80% freaken desert among many other factors, would be if you werent’ serious in bringing it up. (Have you been to Somalia? Kids would be alot worse off without WIC i promise u, just like now with gov’t shutdown, most kids that get daycare assistance are missing the only decent meal they get in summertime cause parents daycare assistance help has been cut off. You have a point about higher taxes and business, but there is a trade off. Texas has created TONS of business with their tax policy of very low taxes. The trade off is no middle class with a huge disparity among the rich and poor. On the top of that a future where Texas ranks among dead last in education. Where’s the future there.

The land of “10,000 taxes” stocks them with fish and has state parks all over MN. Environmental policies cost money. How many States could call going “up north” a vacation. It takes money to make money. Minnesota has so much to offer. Why would you even have a summer home there if the cost of living is so high…

Oh wait, as far as Keynesian economics, Minnesota is the same thing….As far as those folks who have a union to bargain for them, those folks would not have a union (public union = taxpayer funded) were it not for the tax dollars funding it off the backs of the private sector workers and the many small business owners who provide them jobs. Talk about biting the hands that feeds you! This spoiled, self-entitlement attitude of the public sector is a major reason why economically and educationally (!) the US is plummeting to Third World Status. Minnesota can’t have it both ways…even a pubwic school economics student realize you can’t have higher and higher tax rates and simultaneously sustain increased revenues for long, before businesses either close, cut their work force, or move out of state. Business has not “abandoned” Minnesota, California, New York so-called “high tax” states.

Those locations offer highly educated work forces. CA, particularly, remains the center of innovation and new company formation in tech.

Who, if they have any money, who wants to live in South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi where the race is to the bottom.

And if social security withholding were taken from every dollar of pay, not just the first $100k or so, the whole social security funding issue would vanish.

It may be taken from every dollar of your “want fries with that” job, but for “rich folks,” that tax disappears mighty fast when they skyrocket right past that $100k threshold.

Also now is the fact that as a Minnesota taxpayer we have to wait if they can figure out how to squeeze $300 mil into a 36 Billion budget to opperate this state for another year. Figure it out and stop being such a joke.

You can’t figure out how to make 36 Billion dollars work in this state? I Can. Cut Spending on useless projects and pointless welfare handouts of WIC and EBT to idiots that can clearly say ‘would you like fries with that’.

Hopefully it happens for two reasons, one that we can break ground in Arden Hills. I personally won’t have to move as I’ll be done with this stupid state if they can’t figure out $36 Billion with a B and a way to keep the Vikings. And of course Two: we’ll no longer have to read after every stadium story…

My God that is a dumb response. Because Minnesota doesnt need more taxes. It needs more tax payers. And, as I pointed out, it doesnt work. Just look at New Jersey. Rich people dont get paychecks. So, you cant tax them unless you seize their assets. But they do invest their money, that opens credit, that builds business, that make things, so people get hired. Its liberal class warfare and demagoguery. What are you going to do? Take Al Frankens vacation home and Benz from him?

The Wilfs have gone more than the extra mile to keep the team here. Two major forces are at play in this mess: one group demands the Vikes stay in downtown Minneapolis – obviously for loss of revenue concerns,
the other says lets put the stadium out of town where there is ample space and the Wilfs can get concession and parking revenue that they do not have now.

In Minnesota when you have two sides adamate on winning, nothing gets down. AKA state shutdown today.
