Dolphins wideout Brandon Marshall clearly wasn’t thrilled with his quarterback Chad Henne at times last year, and questioned whether Henne knew how to get him the ball after the season ended.
When Marshall said those words, it looked like Henne wouldn’t be Miami’s starter in 2011. Now it appears he will. Henne has taken steps to smooth things over in the relationship.
“Yeah, I mean we had our ups and downs last year,” Henne said on WQAM with Sid Rosenberg, via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “And some not-so friendly exchanged words but we’ve talked in the off-season. I’ve been sending him some of the playbooks so he can pick up on that because he’s been bouncing around with some of the things that have gone on in the past.”
The Dolphins want to add a quarterback to compete with Henne, but it seems fairly likely that Henne will be the Week One starter after leading players-only workouts all offseason. Henne knows that handling Marshall is a big part of the job.
“He’s still a good guy, he just speaks up sometimes when you don’t want him to. But he’s a great player and you definitely want him on your side,” Henne said.
