Packers cornerback Underwood charged with disorderly conduct

Green Bay Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood wears a Pittsburgh Steelers Troy Polamalu wig during media day for Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington AP

Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood is in trouble with the law again, having been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct following an alleged altercation with his wife.

Fox 11′s Becky DeVries reports that Underwood was arrested June 16, the night the Packers received their Super Bowl rings.  Underwood is accused of ripping a necklace off his wife, dragging her out of a car, and throwing her on the ground.

The necklace was a gift from the Packers to the players wives.  Underwood’s wife Brandie filed for divorce last month.  According to the police report, she said Brandon was upset she had the necklace and he would decide what she could wear.  Sigh.

Underwood pleaded no contest last year in a prostitution case.  At the time, some Packers teammates said Underwood had been “a problem” since joining the team.  He’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

LUL you mad? Funny thing is when no Packer fan (real or fake) makes an excuse you both (and the teams you represent by being a fan of) look bad.

Bottom line is: Underwood was probably 7th on the depth chart behind Woodson, Williams, Shields, House, Bush, and Lee. He wasn’t going to make the team. He is the anti-Ted.

  52. spreadthecheese says: Jul 5, 2011 8:59 PM

I’m a lifelong Packers fan and what surprises me about this incident isn’t that it occurred but that Green Bay didn’t cut him last year after he was arrested. Green Bay has had a long history of doing things the right way, and the fact McCarthy and Thompson have kept this guy around is an embarrassment to the organization.

Are we finally going to cut this guy or is he going to be allowed a hat trick?

    Underwood is a complete tool.
Fact is, if it wasn’t for his special teams play he would have been cut last year.

Also, when Woodson and Shields went down in the Super Bowl, Bush and Underwood allowed the Steelers to get back into the game.

Everybody makes mistakes, we are all human, but I believe NFL players, by the very nature of their job, should be held to a higher standard.
    And that includes my team.

Again though, I have to laugh at the bitterness and petty jealousy of the other fans on this site.

And Goodell, you sorry hypocrite, I’d love to hear you explain why soliciting prostitutes while your wife is giving birth, dragging your innocent teammates through the mud, and beating on your wife aren’t violations of your precious personal conduct policy.

The difference is that the guy who signed him is also the guy that drafted him in Seattle. He knew him and his character well. Based on knowing him as a person, he decided he was a good person with a drinking problem rather than a d-bag with a drinking problem and wanted to give him a chance to get his life back on track. The Vikings just sign any ex-Packer, because he’s an ex-Packer.

Oh, by the way, as a Packer’s fan I had a moment of temptation to add, “…Let the Vikings have Underwood”, as some others here have.

But you know what? The source of all that animosity of the possible tampering during the messy GB-Favre divorce lay with Childress and Bevell. They are now gone from the Vikes. Yes, I’m still a little annoyed at many of the Vikes fans for thinking it was all justified and can’t understand why Packer fans (as distinct from Favre fans) would be ticked, but not all Vikes fans have felt that way.

Can we Pack fans move on please? Believe me, I hate the Viking nation as much as they hate us, but there comes a point where it starts to look petty when you go out of your way to take potshots at them, at least on a subject (e.g., Underwood) having nothing to do with them directly. Our team just won our 4th Super Bowl. Childress and Bevell are gone. Favre will not be back with the Vikes. The Vikes now finally have a classy coach with Dungy-molded character in Frazier, one who won’t be the tools that some past Vikes Head Coaches arguably have been (the great Bud Grant the one great exception.) The Vikes just might actually build a stadium where at least some games might be played outdoors again, as it should be in our NFC North!!! (Ok, we’ll see if they go with natural grass over artificial turf and if they still keep the retractable roof open for games in Dec./Jan, but still, it will be better than the Monstrosity they’ve had with that YuppieDome for so many years.)

What I’m sayin is, I’d rather hate the Vikings with respect (as we do the Bears), rather than with the legitimate disgust as it has been these past couple years. If any Packer’s fan knocks a class act like Leslie Frazier up to this point, they’re a tool, no different than any Vikes fan that knocks McCarthy or TT.

So let’s move on already…..and again, I hope the my Packer’s cut Underwood after the CBA is worked out, and I’d be shocked if a class act like Leslie Frazier would sign an Underwood. Now were it Childress, that may be another story….lol. But he’s in the past for good. Let it lie.

    ================================
Let me lay this down for youm chapter and verse. I am not phantom stranger.

Unlike you, I do not have the free time, nor the want to play games on this website. That is more your speed.( Hydra in all 6 or 7 forms, Mr. Burgess…etc.)
I have never once pretended to be anyone but me on here.
Just because your immaturity comes out and you have to play games with people, doesn’t mean everyone else does it.
You continue to run your mouth and call me an idiot and all that other crap, yet you think there is no reprecussions. You’d think you would have learned from the last few times, but I guess not.

I’ve had it. It’s not worth the time or effort to continue to keep a decaying friendship going.

I have no idea who this person is but it sure looks as though someone is taking an online character literally. I know no one on this site that I know of.
