The Pro Football Hall of Fame continues to prepare to host the Bears and Rams on August 7 for the Hall of Fame game, despite no guarantee that the game will actually happen.
“We’re making all plans to have the game on time. We’ve heard from both parties -- the owners and the players -- and they’ve expressed their desire to have the game. So, that’s our plan,” Hall of Fame president Steve Perry told Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.
With uncertainty looming, ticket sales are lagging behind the usual numbers. The game is traditionally a sellout despite the appearance of some empty seats, but Perry says only half the tickets are sold. If the labor mess drags on, it’s possible the game could be delayed and even be played on a different weekend from the Hall of Induction.
If the game goes on but doesn’t sell out, the game will be blacked out in the Canton area but will still be on nationally on NBC.
