HOF announces presenters for the seven new inductees

Though the August 7 Hall of Fame game is hanging in the balance, it remains a given that the Hall of Fame induction ceremony will happen on August 6.

And with seven new members due to be inducted, each will be presented by a person of his choice.

Per Albert Breer of NFL Network, the Hall of Fame has announced the seven folks who’ll present the 2011 class of Hall of Famers.

Shannon Sharpe will be presented by his brother, Sterling.  Richard Dent has selected his college coach, Joe Gilliam.  Steve Sabol will present Ed Sabol.  Deion Sanders will be presented by agent Eugene Parker.  Agent Rocky Arceneaux will present Marshall Faulk.

Finally, Chris Hanburger will be presented by his son, Chris.  Les Richter will be presented by his son, John.

In past years, the presenters had the ability to stand at the podium, and to talk for pretty much as long as they wanted (like, say, the guy in the photo . . . on the right).  Last year, the Hall of Fame switched to taped features, which helped cut down on the total time of the ceremony.

This totally screws up my Fantasy HOF Presenter season.

I realize we don’t know the personal relationship they have with their agents, but it seems a little slimy having your agent present you.

I always like when they have their H.S. or college coach do it.

I thought Bobby Bowden would be presenting Neon for sure. But he would probably steal the show.

Deion is being presented by his agent. Not a shocker considering Deion made a rap song and music video called, “Must be the money.”

their agent? strange sounding if ya ask me….Oh well, I guess when I get in the Hall I could think differently. Deion I suppose owes a debt of gratitude to his agent for getting him big money deals long after he was washed up…..

Deion should be represented by the guy who designed the sideline. it helped deion push people out instead of tackling them.

Seems kind of classless now that they make them cut down their induction speeches and put them on a video. Takes away from the “moment” of it all. the true emotion of it all doesn’t shine through. But whatever… everyone these days is looking to do things faster and faster to cram it in their busy lives.

Ditto, that buffoon has no business eating a hot dog at the snack bar at the HOF… let alone presenting

I am surprised Shannon Sharpe didn’t select Shannon Sharpe to present Shannon Sharpe.

Jeez, don’t give these guys any ideas. There WILL be the day when an egotistical athlete presents himself in the 3rd person. My vote is for Brett Favre.

Agents really couldn’t find a coach or guy you played with to introduce you? Seriously I was really hoping Faulk would choose Kurt Warner, any other reason he has a ring and don’t say Dick Vermeil.

I am surprised Shannon Sharpe didn’t select Shannon Sharpe to present Shannon Sharpe.

He considered it, but realized he didn’t have enough time before the ceremony to learn the language.

i definitely don’t like the video part of it. much better the way it has been.

someone should tell sterling that this is the closest he will get to getting in the hof himself. tired of him tooting his own horn and saying he was the best wr ever
