The question was why this is news, you then compared it to Manning & Brady. When they do the things Vick did, it will be news as well.

If we have different ideas of what “doing his time” means, then we agree to disagree. He did time for an organized gambling ring, never for the TORTURE he administered with his bare hands for FUN. When he does time for his TORTURE for fun, then he did his time. Until then, the court of public opinion has a different idea of what “doing his time” means.

As for companies that are signing him, it’s about the almighty dollar & America has short memories in regards to its sports stars. Obviously enough fans are ignorant to the things he really did, all you have to do is read the comments by pro-Vick posters to see most have no idea of his real atrocities & have no interest in really finding out how sadistic & dark he truly is mentally to be able to do the things he did for kicks. Nike only cares about selling shoes, Vick fans only care about him doing well on the field.

There are quite a few double standards in this society. How many politicians get caught in scandals and still wind up on TV or with great jobs? CEOs get caught stealing money or committing fraud and they get a year or two in jail, and then spend the rest of their lives enjoying their billions. It sucks, but money is not everything.

he did his time and has been back for a year now, you can’t hold a microscope to everything in his life forever. Sure if he screws up that’s news, but he hasn’t and companies believe he won’t or they wouldn’t sign him.

It’s not like he killed his ex wife or his child and got off.
