Sure, none of these guys PERSONALLY demanded special treatment from the NFL…they did it through their lawyer or agent. So in very lawyer-like fashion, Brees et al can technically deny asking for anything, however that treatement WAS asked for on their behalf.

If you owned up to it, say you had to try, and now let it go, we won’t think any less of you. Some of us couldn’t…

Because they made something up about Manning instead. Brady just signed a new contract. A lie has to have some shred of believability to suck people in. The only other truth in the rampant rumor yesterday was that they spelled the names correctly.

Kluew comes off looking like the A-hole now! He read something reported by an “unnamed source” that basically throws his co-workers (Brees, Manning, Mankins, and Jackson) under the bus and he just jumps on them and tries making them look even worse.

Rather than waiting to get some of the actual facts, he just runs his mouth and now looks like the moron!

We come to expect these type of harsh responses from fans, writers, and bloggers… but as a player who is also part of the “union” he could have and should have been a little more patient before he fueled the fire…

So PFT posters, myself included, spent all day making hundreds of comments attacking these players for making it about themselves instead of the game, when it turns out that little, if any, of what we were reacting turned out to be accurate.

I, for one, pledge from this point onward not make critical comments about people portrayed negatively on this website until I have sought out confirmation elsewhere.

I actually care about having an informed opinion.

The reports were a lie to begin with, and yet when he defends himself against a false rumor, based on nothing but an unsourced, anonymous “report”, he’s the bad guy? Stop.

Maybe if the media wasn’t so quick to jump on every rumor and immediately spread it before, you know, finding out if it’s remotely true, this type of thing wouldn’t happen so often.
