Rosenhaus predicts most active two weeks in NFL history

drew-rosenhaus AP

With the lockout potentially ending (more on that in a bit) this week and free agency expected to begin next week, the level of activity for the league will be high.

How high will it be?  Agent Drew Rosenhaus predicted earlier today on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning that it will be the “most active two-week period in the history of the NFL.”

He’s right.  Draft picks, undrafted free agents, and veteran free agents will be hitting the market all at about the same time, and the teams will have to make quick decisions.  The agents will, too.  Indeed, Rosenhaus said everyone will have to be decisive, and that the result will be the “most time-effective negotiations ever.”

We’ll be covering it every step of the way.  And though we likely won’t recapture all the traffic that we lost during the lockout, the NBC server hamsters surely will be cursing us all.

If they survive.

With every word that comes out of this guy’s mouth there’s an agenda… so even if he’s right I take it with a grain of salt.

    I’m ready! Let’s go!!

I’m so tired of puff pieces, lockout stories and legal analysis – and I’m an attorney.

Teams should be hiring help to sign people if they are smart and have a rock solid plan.

    1. Hire a few people to know the rookie wage scale and sign the draft picks.

    2. Get your best people to go after the Free agents your team wants.

    3. Hire some consultants that are ex-GMs or personnel people and tell them what UDFAs to go after and the price for your free agents you want to try to retain and have them take care of that…

Plan fires off at 12:01 the day FA starts!

    READY…..BREAK!

    Gee, ya think?

In other groundbreaking news, the sun will rise in the east, Kenny Britt has issues and James Harrison is angry.

Compared to the “Dead” period of the lockout. Any player news would be considered activity. I also like how PFT is keeping T.O. relavent in the 2011 season with this picture.

It will also be the most fun 2 weeks of non-season football ever too. I think the excitement will actually make most fans forget all about the lockout as we go into scramble mode getting our fantasy spreadsheets in order. Can’t wait!

Will be hilarious watching teams like the Redskins and Bengals that are notorious for making poor personnel decisions.

They are terrible when they have months to prepare so this should be fun.

Mike will your coverage of the free agent market be based on total fiction as your coverage of the lockout? Oh wait, this just in, the lockout will end this week or maybe next week or maybe next year as the owners and players are willing to do whatever it takes as long as it doesn’t involve making a deal.

  20. kevinfromphilly says: Jul 19, 2011 12:48 PM

You know, if I’m Rosenhaus’ 80th best player, I’m wondering if I’ll be the guy still standing when the music stops and all the spots are filled, because my rep only had time to do 79 deals.

  21. time2speakup says: Jul 19, 2011 1:23 PM

Could Drew Rosenhaus actually be on to something? Cannot wait to see if he is spot on – or not! Just imagine.

Hey laxer, glad they can entertain you. If you haven’t noticed, a new front office is in Washington. Last year they passed on just about every bust veteran with a big name. After this year, you and your clueless football friends can stop putting the skins in the category of laughable in the front office and on the field. Get a clue to current events before you categorize teams with entirely new people running them. Vinny is gone. Shanny/ Allen know what they are doing. You “football bloggers” that think they know something will have to find another hobby.

There are only two people in this world that I hate, and Drew Rosenslob is both of them. I hope he gets hit by a bus.

I think its fait to say people will be skeptical of the deadskins after the three ring circus which has been Football in DC for 20 years.
