I find it funny coming from a laughing stock organization like the Jets, who since 1970 have only "2" AFC East championships! TWO in 41 years and only one Super bowl win in 42 years! PATHETIC! They make it to to two AFC championship games and lose, and their pathetic fans talk smack? Way to set the bar high Jets fans! When you even get close to sniffing the success of the Phins tradition then you can talk! Your fat, foot fetish coach is 1-3 vs. our fist pump empire! BIOTCHES!!!

drubu22 i dont think ur closer than the fins to the superbowl for the reasons cited above. i absolutely am not spitting garbage. you cant even win your division. youve backed into the playoffs for 2 years and you think ur so much closer than the fins yet you cant even beat that team 2 out of the past 5 games.

i dont care if you disagree. this argument shifted from why its absurd that rosenthall thinks the jets own miami in sunlife when they blatantly dont to why you think your team is so much better than the dolphins because you made it to the past two afc championship games and lost.

i dont care about how close you think you are to the superbowl, its not even worth debating because jets fans are so hilariously delirious. fact of the matter is head to head the dolphins team that you suggest is so far away from the superbowl beats you guys up rather consistently.

"Well maybe the Meadowlands should be called home of the Dolphins since they’ve won 3 in a row there. Surely you didnt forget about that Jet fan, did you? I’m sure your remember crying yourself to sleep the night Chad Pennington came in week 17 and beat out Farve for the division title and knocking you out of the playoffs. Or you must remember changing your crap filled underwear when Ted Ginn Jr. returned his 2nd kickoff for a touchdown of the day. No doubt you remember the shame and embarrasement you felt last year when one of your coaches made one of the all time bush league moves and tripped a guy on a kickoff return (i guess who couldnt stand to see yet another one go back for a TD), yet you still lost the game."

you might as well go ahead an pencil in a L for the Jets at home this year.

Once more, I'll say the same thing. Keep beating us head to head. Celebrate your 3-1 head to head against us with Rex as HC. Celebrate winning 4 of the past 5. At this rate, keep on celebrating your victory in the last game of the 08 season (we were already knocked out of the playoffs at that point, so in reference to the post I'm quoting, you didn't knock us out, you just kept the Pats from winning the division).

Keep on celebrating all of that. But then, ask yourself this. Would you rather have won three of the four games against us since Rex took over and missed the playoffs both years? Or would you rather be 1-3, with two consecutive AFC title game appearances with a young core of great players?

I would think the answer is obvious, but the fact that you Dolphin fans somehow take a ton of pride in being 3-1 against Rex while missing the playoffs both years says otherwise.

You're right that there's 1 winner and 31 losers. However, if you think any Lions fan would see no difference between going 0-16 and losing in the championship game you're not being honest. There are different levels of failure for the 31 who don't take home the trophy and it's much better to be in the hunt then out of it by the end of September.

To all of you pathetic, crybaby Dolphins fans:

1998: Miami had a solid 10–6 season in 1998 with a career season for receiver O.J. McDuffie, but it was not enough to get past the 12-4 New York Jets into first place in the division. The Dolphins beat the Bills in the wild card round, but lost in the next round to the eventual champion Denver Broncos.
1999: Miami suffered the second worst playoff loss in NFL history against the Jacksonville Jaguars: 62–7. After the season, Jimmy Johnson left the team and Marino retired.
2001: The Dolphins lost in the first round of the playoffs 20–3 to the Baltimore Ravens.
2002: Miami pulled off an impressive win over the Oakland Raiders and sat at 9–5 with two weeks left in the season, in prime position to steal the AFC East. However, despite dominating the New England Patriots for most of the game in week 17, the Dolphins blew an 11-point lead with mere minutes remaining in the game that led to a heartbreaking loss. Due to a tiebreaker, both the Dolphins and Patriots lost out on the playoffs as the Jets took the AFC East title.
2007: The Dolphins hit rock bottom in 2007, losing eight games in a row before the bye week, five of which were by three points or less. A loss to Philadelphia in Week 11 sealed their fate for the season, and the next game was a rare 3-0 defeat in Pittsburgh. A win in Week 15 over the Baltimore Ravens ensured that the Dolphins would not have a winless season, but the last two matches were lost, ending Miami's 2007 campaign at 1-15.
2008: In 2008, the Dolphins performed a 180-degree turnaround, aided by new coach Tony Sparano. The team ended at 11-5 and won the division title, making for the greatest single-season turnaround in NFL history. However, they were routed out of their own building and the playoffs by Baltimore, 27-9.

So do us a favor, come back when you actually do something noteworthy. No one remembers the losers of title games except the losers.

PS as long as Ryan is your coach, and we are 3-1 against him, it won't take long to overtake the head to head in short order.

Nope, I actually don't care because in '08 you got crushed 27-9 in the playoffs, (continuing your proud streak of no playoff wins in a decade) and in '09 and '10 we made deep playoff pushes and established ourselves as a dangerous team while the Dolphins couldn't even get to .500 and wallowed in mediocrity.

So yes, enjoy your few wins, but it's still not as many as we have. 47-43-1. (Sorry, took away a win above)

"drewbu22:

your team has sat 42 years away from a superbowl.
you act like your so close to winning one, you havent gotten there in how many years? you cant even win your division title! your underdogs in every playoff game you play! you wont even be able to hold down the priority free agents that were essential to your overachieving team last year.

good to see your keeping your eye on the prize though, you jets fans have done it so well for 42 yrs its led you only to playoff LOSSES. congrats. keep backing in to the playoffs, overachieving, and talking smack all offseason. congrats on the accomplishment."

Bro, I'm honestly beginning to question if you're reading what I wrote whatsoever, or are just spewing garbage on the page without thinking it through. Probably the latter. I never said we were close to winning one, I simply stated that we're a lot closer to winning one than you. That's not an accomplishment, a boast, nothing of the sort; its a simple faced based upon the observation that the Jets have been in two consecutive AFC title games while the Dolphins haven't even been to the postseason in several years. Its not a boast, or a testament that we're "close" to a Super Bowl win as you claimed I was doing, its a simple fact that regardless of how "close" we may be, we're still closer than you.

Your reference to us being underdogs in every playoff game we play: so what? Last time I checked, there's a reason the games are played. Underdogs or not, we're 4-2 in postseason play under Rex Ryan. At some point, the term "overachieving" gives into the term "playing better when it counts." I'll take being the underdog anyday if it will one day result in the same status given to the 01 Pats, 05 Steelers, and 07 Giants.

RexCanCoach is a classic Jets fan as he and
all Jets fans consider the win Foxboro their greatest victory in the history of their franchise as was proclaimed by the NY media. But I guess that is the difference between being a jets fan and a Patriots fan where nothing less than winning a Lombardi is considered failure.

But then again when you have won nothing of any meaning for 42 years, this is as good as it gets in Florham Park for Newark's faithful.

waldo, not an insult just the facts!

You can't kid yourself, if you have been to a Dolphins game in the past decade, it is a home game for the visting team. Its not that Miami doesn't have "loyal fans", its just that its not really a football city anymore. There is too much to do rather then spend your Sundays in an awful neighborhood and an outdated stadium with the total wrong marketing plan, it truely is throwing as much crap against the wall and praying something sticks. Its overpriced and too hot .Their owner needs to step up and finance his renovations himself, he needs a roof, and the city and state should not contribute one dime, but its Miami/FL and everyone has their hands out, so Iam sure the billionaire will get the taxpayers money.

"Our fans felt strongly that this policy should be implemented and we are doing it. As part of this arrangement with the operator of the team store, we gave them a limited window to sell everything that they had in stock on a discounted basis prior to the start of the NFL season. With the Mets coming to town this weekend to play the Marlins, they are attempting to move all of their old Jets merchandise this week. We were unaware of this particular shirt which I am told is a number of years old. We have requested that this particular shirt be removed immediately."

your team has sat 42 years away from a superbowl.
you act like your so close to winning one, you havent gotten there in how many years? you cant even win your division title! your underdogs in every playoff game you play! you wont even be able to hold down the priority free agents that were essential to your overachieving team last year.

good to see your keeping your eye on the prize though, you jets fans have done it so well for 42 yrs its led you only to playoff LOSSES. congrats. keep backing in to the playoffs, overachieving, and talking smack all offseason. congrats on the accomplishment.

Just like the JETS!!!

I know, you are still reeling from the beatdown the Brady Bunch took from Rex and the boys last January, its bad enough to lose in the playoffs even WORSE when a NY team is to blame.

Even sweeter when Rex tells the world that BB is best coach ever, gets into his head, and kicks his arse.

"drewbu22, i enjoyed your complete mischaracterization of my comment. I never said “it does it for me” i said id prefer to beat the jets in your filthy stadium and id prefer to win 4 out of 5 games against them then have a worse record and win a couple at home.

get over your afc championship LOSSES. ive never heard so many people boast about being in third place so much, its pathetic. especially when the leader of the same fanbase guaranteed first place both seasons."

I'm not boasting about losing in the AFC title games at all. Trust me, losing those two games stings badly to this day. What I AM boasting about though, is the fact that you yourself are boasting about consistently beating the Jets. As mentioned, its great that you beat them 4/5 times, bravo, but what has it done for you? Sure, we may have lost the past two AFC title games, but let's not act as if you'd rather your team be in the situation its currently in than the one the Jets are currently in.

In reality, I didn't mischaracterize anything. All the "boasting" was coming from your side; I simply pointed out that even with the wins against the Jets that you were so quick to acknowledge, your team still sits a hell of a lot farther away from the ultimate goal than mine does, which is winning the Super Bowl. (Assuming of course, your ultimate goal IS to win the Super Bowl, because judging by your comments, your goal seems to be to beat the Jets. In which case, congrads.)

As I mentioned above to someone else, if you are truly satisfied with taking 4/5 from the Jets while you sit at home in January and watch the team you beat 80% of the time in the last few years be a game away from the Super Bowl, then so be it. If its helping us get back to the AFC title game, keep it up Fins!
