No sympathy for Vincent Jackson. His agents work for HIM, not the other way around. If his agents publicly push for things he doesn’t want, then he should fire them and make a public statement stating his own opinion.

Hiding behind the agent and playing dumb unless and until you happen to actually win the $10 million is pretty cowardly.

Reading these texts makes me realize that American football fans are total hypocrites. At least 95% of us who work do it for MONEY! Pro athletes should get as much as possible because their bosses make money based on how they perform, just like the rest of us. Most NFL players make the minimum. So if you can get more, get it. It’s called “the American way”! If you ever felt you deserved a raise, shut the hell up! Same thing for them. Good for them. The plyers should hold out for as much as they can get for themselves and their families.

I can’t condemn Vincent Jackson until I hear from him. His agents, however, have screwed up his career. On their website, they brag about $900 million in contracts negotiated. No wonder they can destroy Jackson’s career…they make their money back on their other clients. Owners know they’ll hold out a guy like Jackson or Mankins, no matter how bad it gets for the athlete.

If there were things “slipped in” by the NFL on their proposed settlement, it would be nothing more than the “closing table” tactics the playas have been engaging in for the past several weeks. Cut VJ loose and let him take his chances. if they did give him the money, and proceed to black ball him out the league(when everyone knows he is healthy and has the talent to play) this would be an even larger collusion case for him to pursue.

If the NFLPA asked him to put his name to this anti-trust so it would help their efforts, and he said ok, but you have to make sure i get the 10 million i could have made in free agency or grant my free agency. that sounds like a deal that they didn’t live up to. but were not privy to that information, so we don’t how the are screwing over each other while trying to screw over the owners who are trying to screw over the players while trying to screw over the other owners.

Boy, this is ugly. Why didn’t PFT or any one else see this coming? I’m reading the Tweets from players I’m following and they are claiming owners slipped things in, voted on their own proposal, tried to force them into a bad deal, bargained in bad faith, they don’t have all the documents, the league is lying etc. Now this entire deal is predicated on the players agreeing to this deal and recertifying by July 26th, or all bets are off. Now I certaintly don’t know who is telling the truth but it seems the owners certainly made a push to get this voted on in their owners meeting no matter what to get in their Pre Season Garbage revenue. This could go either way now, but if it goes bad I think the Season is in serious trouble.
