Ottis Anderson says he has nothing to do with concussion lawsuit

ottisanderson

We passed along a report this week that 75 former NFL players are suing the league for concealing the risks of concussions, and that one of those players is Ottis “O.J.” Anderson. But Anderson, the 1979 Offensive Rookie of the Year and Super Bowl XXV MVP, says that’s false.

In an e-mail distributed by the NFL Alumni Association, Anderson said he has nothing to do with the lawsuit.

“I support the NFL and NFL Alumni Association, and as the New York alumni chapter’s former president, my concern is with the players. I think there are more constructive ways of finding solutions to the issues we face than litigation,” Anderson said.

We have no idea why Anderson’s name has been linked to the lawsuit if he’s not involved with it, but the lawsuit is still going forward with many other former NFL players. Florio will offer his legal analysis of the case just as soon as the lockout madness calms down.
