Note to all involved (owners, players, reps, and agents). *ahem* Shut up. Don’t send another email, don’t hold another press conference, don’t talk to another reporter off the record, don’t even whisper what you think is going on to your wife. You can blab all you want when its DONE. Its not done. Everyone involved in this has been very adapt at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory so trying to tell us “Good news tomorrow” or “I’m so confident its done here’s our schedule for the week”? I dont care. It done matter. Anything Drew Brees, Payton Manning, Tom Bradt, Vincent Jackson, and co say from now on is irrelevant. They should be bood whenmever they walk on the field and you definately better not buy their Jerseys. They are dead to me. Imagine the arrogance they must feel to be “the ones” to put their names on the lawsuit.

Heath Evans just called ESPN, NFL Network,CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX, ABC, and LIFETIME and said Brees is lying. He said real fans would see through this and know the owners are just playing more games with the players to get their hopes up.

He said the season could actually be lost and that they arent close to a deal, but he could not provide any sources or cite evidence to back up his claims.

He also said he is a hall of famer but could not provide anything to back up that claim either.

The last few days has simply been PR from the players as if they are thoroughly analyzing the owners proposal, so it appears they’ve been thorough and explored every detail , to appear smarter than they are and make the last months as a trade association seem worth it.
Plus it allows those players Ray Lewis alluded to, one last weekend to get it all out of the system; DUI’s, fathering children with passed out women and other assorted rubbish.

Bring on the roulette of free agency!

“Brees tells his teammates the Saints can get physicals and report to the team’s hotel on Saturday, July 30. They will have to report to the team’s facility on Sunday, July 31 at 2 p.m. CT for a team meeting.”

Since when does Brees organize the teams schedule? He’s obviously been talking to some from the Saints. They are not supposed to have any contact. I call foul.

@lutazanderman have you read any of the reports of what has gone on this weekend? From the sounds of it they got what they wanted, which was to reconstitute the union on their own terms. If they had approved the NFL’s offer it likely would have been in violation of federal labor laws because management can not dictate terms about the formation of a union. Then all it would have taken was for one player to sue to have the entire deal made null and void.

This is good news, this along with Steve Hutchinson, who is a player rep, saying earlier that he expects good news tomorrow. It is actually making me optimistic but I don’t want to go there yet. Fans have been let down way too many times. Let’s REALLY get it done this time guys!!
