Dez Bryant faces court date for jewelry suit

When Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant said in June that his jewelry lawsuits are “done,” he apparently was talking about only one of them.

The claim brought by Eleow Hunt against Bryant and his advisor, David Wells, is scheduled to go to court on January 9, 2012, according to Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News.  Hunt claims that the men have failed to pay for more than $600,000 in jewelry, tickets, and loans dating back to Dez’s days at Oklahoma State.

The report doesn’t specify whether the case will go to trial on January 9, or whether a pre-trial hearing will be conducted that day.

Bryant has settled a claim from a New York jeweler for $246,000 in unpaid bills.

Yet another example of a stupid superficial and greedy NFL player.

If I had come from a home where my mom was a street walker, I would try to value the money I had and respect the value of money.

Maybe I’m naive and only people who grow up with money that is actually earned by starting a business or working hard can respect it’s true value.

Dez models his game after Braylon Edwards.

He hasn’t killed anyone driving drunk, he hasn’t electrocuted dogs or tried to get on an airliner with dope, no raping or beating of women, no shooting himself or anyone else. No fighting police officers, no comparing the NFL with slavery or supporting Bin Laden. Give the guy a break, he’s just immature kid who has money for the first time. But pull your damn pants up, Dez. That’s kind of gay.

Except for the part where Dez scored almost as many TDs in his rookie season (8) as Edwards did in his first two seasons (9) and all of the criminal charges, I might agree.

You know this suit was filed last September. It’ll likely be settled before it goes to court. Chances are he’s already worked out a settlement that involves payments, and the suit is kept on the books to ensure that he keeps up the payments.

I hope he gets raked over the coals and it’s painful as hell. He’s an arrogant little punk that will only learn his lessons the hard way. Let the lessons begin.

You can forget about that. He owes money to somebody for products and services rendered, it’s not like he stole it. He’s gonna get over a million bucks via a roster bonus after the lockout ends. Don’t worry, he’ll be around to smoke your favorite team’s DB’s and your fears will be realized :)

At first I thought he actually had a suit made of jewelry.

Dez is a young man that is not real bright but plays receiver very well and that is what the Cowboys want out of him. I hope he learns how to take care of himself and his money
so he won’t wind up living in homeless shelters after his football career is over.

Dez is like Mike Tyson not smart but with talent only God can give a man.
