Go get something outta that wasted 3rd rounder coach Frazier. They had an outstanding first five selections in the 2011 draft. Bring Randy back for the final time and lets gets some value for that draft pick.

The Vikings ended last season with their stadium roof – and their underwear – around their ankles, a washed up interception throwing quarterback whose arm was in the same shape as that roof, an offense and defense that don’t belong on a Pop Warner field, and their fiercest rivals hoisting the trophy that Vikes fans swore was their’s for the taking….

And now they’re banking their hopes on getting Randy Moss back!

I don’t think Viking’s fans have any room to be lobbing grenades at Packer fans today.

1) The vikings have nothing to offer a veteran QB.
Poor WR’s, a porous O-line that ended Favre’s career, and the uncertainty of where the team will play in the future.

2) They better figure out their future regarding the franchise move or stadium lease.

3) Greenway doesn’t matter they ought to rescind the tag and release him. He is only an average NFL LB and easily replaced.

4) Find a couple of competent WR’s

5) Strengthen that aging O-line.

6) Shore up the weak pass defense.

7) Replace the aging O-line.

In short the team has to rebuild everywhere. The only thing they have to trade is an RB that is near the end of his productive years.

They will be drafting in the top 5 next year.

I never comment on anyone’s grammar. I will comment on spelling, however, if the commenter misspells words while insulting the intelligence of another commenter. I also occasionally point out if a comment is unintelligible, but that would not include a simple mistake. I get a bad rap with the grammar thing. I blame Gerbschmidt for that.

The really funny part to this is that just a scant full season ago, Minnesota was LOADED with “special” players, and now they have to replace everything? Has any great team ever sunk so low so fast?

I wouldn’t cede on losing Sidney Rice. Yeah, they’ll have stiff competition, but Rice needs to stay in purple.

A veteran QB? Why? We’ve been through this over and over again, and it’s time to start fresh. Webb vs. Ponder, and may the most mobile QB win because…..

The Vikings desperately need to upgrade the OL. After signing Rice, that should be the next priority. Losing Berrian is no big deal.

I see the Vikings going 0-6 in their division and 3-7 outside. Should get a decent draft pick.

If the Vikings don’t make a big effort to re-sign Rice, you’ll know that they’re worried about his hip. They’ll probably sign Fitzy next year anyway.

2. To me franchising Greenway was just a short term way of keeping him off the open market and not risk losing him while also not having to get into any potential bidding wars for his services. I am 100% certain we will see a multi year deal done with Greenway prior to the season starting.

3. Berrian needs to go, hes far overpaid and a average receiver at best. On the other hand they need to think long and hard about Rice. Its easy to sit there and say Harvin is the future and the top guy in Minny but Harvin also has serious injury concerns with migraines that have limited him alot and could become a serious, career-challeging issue. Rice likely will get a huge deal in free agency but the Vikings would be foolish to not at least consider brining back a player they have invested a high draft pick and several years into when he is likely on the verge of becoming a legit pro bowl WR and still in his prime + young.

4. The decision on Pat Williams NEEDS to be goodbye. He was great for a long stretch but that stretch is over. His play declined seriously and he is getting to the age where he cannot maintain high levels of play and likely will start to lose hisendurance even more. The Vikings really do not need to go out and sign a big FA at DT. Kevin Williams was far better than his stats suggest and was still an elite DT last season and should remain one for at least a few years. Former top 12 pick and 31 year old, 6’4″ 320 pound Jimmy Kennedy has played well in a backup/rotational role at NT and should be able to step up, specially next to all pros like Kevin Williams and Jared Allen and be a solid starter and just as good of an option as a guy like Anthony Adams as you mentioned without spending money in FA to do so.

7. NO……Randy Moss shouldnt even be considered. The Vikings are going young and will be building around Ponder at QB and Peterson at HB. Randy Moss is running out of gas plus putting him on a team based around the running game, with questionable at best QB play and offensive line and its a recipe for Moss being a complete non-factor when that playing time could go to a young hungry player that will go 100% on every play and possibly help the team long term. Brining back Moss will not help and makes no sense.

………………..Lastly…one of the Vikings TOP NEEDS is building and improving the O-line which is aging and mediocre at best. I am not sure how this wasnt near the top of your list, let alone not listed at all. Bryant McKinnie is becoming a liability, Steve Hutchinson isnt close to the dominating player he once was and Phil Loadholt is a big lumbering OT better suited as a backup. The Vikes would be very smart to bring in a couple mid-priced, versatile, relatively young offensive lineman in free agency……Marshall Yanda, Tyson Clabo or Harvey Dahl fit the bill.
