Chargers, Jets chasing Antwan Barnes

Veteran linebacker Antwan Barnes, an unrestricted free agent, spent 2010 with the Chargers.  If the Chargers have their way, he’ll spend 2011 there, too.

But the Jets have other ideas.  Per a league source, both teams are pursuing Barnes.

Barnes, a five-year veteran, spent three seasons in Baltimore and one in Philly before joining the Chargers last year.

Barnes only spent a few weeks in Philly before being dumped and San Diego signed him.

He’s got a decent pass rush ability but can’t play every down. His attitude is also a reason he’s been on 3 teams in 2 years.

It’s the 3 years in B-more that are key, It means Rex knows what he’ll get.
