Signing a one year deal with G-Men ( he works well with Eli) and winning another SB would make him a small fortune next year. Not the worst idea in the world for both parties.

Smith never made a true transition to a #1 receiver, sure he caught a lot of balls, but he never stayed on the field last season.
And all the people you mention have been hurt or missed games in some fashion. So please tell me how that is a stable WR corps. We haven’t had a good WR with over 3 years experience since Plax.

We all know it takes 3 years for a WR to have a breakout season, and hopefully that will happen for Nicks and Manningham this season. (Remember Manningham missed a season)

Please show me a WR for the Giants that started all 16 games for the past 2 seasons. It hasn’t happened.

Yes talk to him. He is the best RED ZONE threat in the league. The Giants don’t have that many weapons (sorry). In todays NFL you many options on offense to score.

Well that is a stupid and uneducated comment – even when they were injured all season, the talent and depth on the o-line still found a way to set an important Giants record – most consecutive games without giving up a sack. The INT’s had to do with 3 things:
1 – tipped balls by WR’s – (8)
2 – Gilbrides incredibly difficult to learn routes
3 – Eli making a few boneheaded plays rather than taking a sack (see left handed throws on our goal line).

I blame Eli for about 10 or 11 picks – nothing more.

I cant wait to watch the Giants win 12 games this year. Especially with Plax and Pozluzny in Blue.

The G-Men make a big run, deep into the playoffs again this year, and to all of you Coughlin haters, keep hating, ’cause he will be around for a long time!

I can understand if the Giants maybe want to sit down and chat with him privately. Maybe to smooth any rough edges off their personal relationship with him, but, keep that private. Basically in public Plax has said no thanks to the Giants, so just move on already New York Giants.

I see them talking, but as much as I would like it, I don’t see Plax back in blue… although, they have indeed reserved #17 (just in case). Plax and Nicks would be devastating on opposing defenses not to mention a strong running game not having the extra guy to protect down in the box. Yes, he made a stupid mistake, but if it happened in ANY other city in the country, we wouldn’t be talking about this, we’d be talking about total GIANTS domination!!! I think somebody will be smart enough to pay the man, and it could even be in New York, but it won’t be the Giants (although, I’d pee myself if it was). Keep in mind, a short term guy will need to fill in at WR since S.Smith will most likely be on the PUP for 6 weeks starting the season.

Let’s see why Plax would want to sign with The Giants.
1. He knows the system.
2. He knows the QB and they worked VERY well together.
3. He has other WRs that will draw some of the doubleteams away.

Why the Giants want Plax:
1. Eli hasn’t had a stable WR base without him.
2. They were getting anyone to play WR for them last year.
3. Steve Smith and Domenik Hixon are both coming off major surgeries.
4. Plax should be more easier to handle, and more contrite.

Plax will be a Houston Texan. A cheap, effective secondary WR for Schaub to throw to and make Andre’s life that much easier.

I hope he goes to Washington, however. I’d love to beat up on him twice a year…

frankly I dont know why Plaxico would want to sign in NY. why play for a state that put you in prison for 2 years for shooting yourself in the foot. drug dealers, domestic abusers, theives get less time in jail. they made an example of him. he should go play for the eagles and score 5 tds vs the giants this year.

I personally wouldn’t mind Tampa bringing him in for a reasonable contract for like one year to see how it goes. He could still easily be a great red zone target, which would be one more weapon for Freeman to utilize. As much as I like Stroughter and Benn, they have been hurt so kind of unfair to them, but I just don’t see either one of them turning into a number two receiver. I would like to see an ideal situation some time where Freeman has his Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne combo, T.O. and Jerry Rice, Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, something to that effect.
If they could do that, plus keep Winslow and Stocker healthy *(hear he is a hell of a tight end) and get a compliment back to be the dash to Blount’s smash (hopefully only on the field for the rest of his career), then the Buccaneers would be great on offense for years to come.
It is only a matter of time before a great top 10 to top 5 defense returns, in my opinion.
