I'm a little surprised at that. But this means that the Eagles will be big winners in the free agency market. They have lots of cap room. The only quality player out of this group Mikell, and he's getting old. He will be missed. Stewart Bradley is good against the run, but he can't cover tight ends to save his life. He's the reason that Jason Witten always eats our defense alive.

the Eagles will never win a SB. their lucky win against the Giants was a mirage. They were exposed in the first half of that game and other teams followed suit against them.

you do realize that a masterfully handled comeback was brewing all fourth quarter and the dominance of the Eagles offense over the Giants defense is what allowed the game to come down to a punt return.......dont like it? then figure out how to play 60 minutes or stop our offense, until then you shall remain our bitches

WOW, no Bradley. I’m shocked, I thought he was definitely coming back

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why so? just for depth or insurance? Bradley really hasnt been impressive when hes been able to stay on the field----which hasnt been that often. He has tore his ACL twice, making him a huge risk for a third and likely career ending knee injury. Those injuries also hurt his lateral agility and change of direction. Bradley was a very good downhill run stopper when healthy but he had limited range and was mediocre on a good day in both man and zone coverage imo. Add onto that concussion issues have arisen and Bradley is a mediocre ticking timebomb.

On top of that Bradley was expected to become a leader in 2010 and one of thhe centerpieces of the defense. Instead he got outplayed by a 7th round rookie in Jamar Chaney. Chaney showed similar run stopping ability with far better range and athletic ability as well as prowess in coverage.

the Eagles also didnt spend a 4th and 6th round selections on possible MLBs just for the heck of it. They added some serious potential and players who come from great football families. Obviously 4th rounder Casey Matthews of Oregon is brother of Clay III, son of Clay II and nephew of HOFer Bruce Matthews. 6th rounder Greg Llyod is the son of former Steelers linebacker Greg Llyod. Matthews is a smaller more athletic LB that could play MIKE or WILL but Lloyd is a big powerful pure inside linebacker.

A little bitter are we, kev86? LOL! I’d be too if my team was getting humiliated the last few years by the Eagles… on national television no less. The Ginas SB win over the Patriots should give you something to hang your hat on for at least 30 more years, kinda like what Cowboys fans do.

Cowboys fans could hang their hats on the Cowboys record over the Eagles the last few years, like what Eagles fans do when they talk to Giants fans. 5-2 including playoffs, by the way.

Losing exactly 0 of these players worries me.

Jerome Harrison looked very good on a per carry basis in 2010 for us but I am not worried about losing him at all. Lesean is the man here no question.....adding fellow Pitt Panther HB Dion Lewis gives us a rookie with alot of talent who can at very least be a solid 3rd down back in his first season. Eldra Buckley is a average veteran downhill runner but wont be relied on too much.

Plus we do actually have several other possibilities as well. 7th round pick out of USC Stanley Havili played FB in college but at 6'0" and 227 pounds is more of a big HB in the NFL. Specially considering his ability as a route runner and receiver and natural ball carrier vision. Plus hes not a strong lead blocker or built to handle that job.

Even more likely than Havili winning a HB spot is that UDFA Graig Cooper out of Miami beats out Buckley/Havili and wins a roster spot. Cooper is 5'10" 205 and was a highly touted halfback before tearing his ACL in 2009 which marred his senior campaign in 2010 and dropped him off draft boards. If he is fully recovered then he certainly has more natural talent, upside and ability as a HB than both Eldra Buckley and Stanley Havili.

On top of that we're not sure on Leonard Weaver's timeline to return but with Owen Schmitt emerging as a brusing lead blocker and valuable FB for the Eagles its not out of the question that Reid moves Weaver to HB fulltime as to not lose either player. If Weaver can recover, and if he does recover in time to play in 2011 and is at least close to his pre-injury level then he is far too talented, versatile and valuable as a leader to allow to walk.

Either way expect big things from Dion Lewis as a rookie, he is a Lesean McCoy mini-me

Mikell was solid, as was Jerome Harrison. The rest, I'm glad to see go.

As an Eagles fan, I hope that we use this huge amount of cap space to really push our team over the top, and contend for a SB this year.

However...I'm also a realist, and I'm afraid that I've become a diehard fan of a team that is always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

I just hope Andy Reid can prove me wrong...but I'm not holding my breath.

A little bitter are we, kev86? LOL! I'd be too if my team was getting humiliated the last few years by the Eagles... on national television no less. The Ginas SB win over the Patriots should give you something to hang your hat on for at least 30 more years, kinda like what Cowboys fans do.

probably trbowman though, i think they are STILL over the cap.

------------------------------------------

You need to work on your reading comprehension. If these players were/are free agents, what would that have anything to do with the Eagles cap number?

BTW, 85 million is way under the salary cap for 2011. You need to recheck your numbers.

the Eagles will never win a SB. their lucky win against the Giants was a mirage. They were exposed in the first half of that game and other teams followed suit against them.

Overrated choke artists with false bravado.

Bring it on birds.

Ha Ha, enjoy your Swiss Cheese O-Line, Chief.

And remind me, when was the last time the Giants had a winning season against the Eagles?

HAHA what a bunch of LOSERS!!!

-----------------------

Can't wait until the Steelers sign Tiki. Then they can host a bizzaro version of The View starring "Tiki, James Harrison, Mendenhall and Big Ben". Except they won't be able to get any women on the show (thanks Tiki and Ben), any veterans or military personel (thanks Rashard) or pretty much anybody else (thanks Jimmy Harrison).

Thank god for those clowns, or we'd still be talking about Mike Vick
