Pittsburgh’s secondary will shut down your primary WR, but be susceptible against your slot WR, or sometimes your TE. This illustrates both the skill of Ike Taylor and the utter lack of depth behind him. One name to remember, however, is Crezdon Butler, who showed glimpses of ballhawking when he played for Clemson. If he’s a quick learner, then he has the potential to be the first legitimate ballhawk CB that the Steelers have had since Rod Woodson — and those of you who don’t like the Steelers better hope that he doesn’t pan out, because with him as the #1 CB, Taylor as the #2 CB, and McFadden as the nickel back, the secondary suddenly changes from a liability to an asset for the Steelers.

Well, if Lil’ Wayne said it, then it must be so. He’s revered for his football expertise.

True free agency doesn’t even start until Friday, but we’ve locked up the guy teams who can’t afford Asomugha would be gunning for. That was a pretty good day’s work. One reason we aren’t scrambling like the Ravens is because we’re not the also-rans … they are. If it’s not broke …

And when I say Ike is somewhat overrated, it’s because I mentally line up every corner against Rod Woodson and few can stand in that shadow.

First off, this was a great signing, Ike is a great corner and the cheapest one who would help us right now. What you and others don’t realize is he can’t play against everyone. Ike was never the problem in our secondary.

Secondly, the Packers have 4 SB wins. And don’t hold all Packers fans accountable for one idiot making a dumb statement. Because, I don’t want to be held accountable for what you say.

Casey Hampton is not the most important defensive player. We won the superbowl in 06 without him and shut down the MVP in that game.

Show me highlights from the game of Ike getting “punked”. He hasn’t let a WR get over 100 yards on him since I don’t know when. And no TD in the SB was on him. Greg Jennings 2 TD’s were against a zone and Ike shut him down when he was on him.

In case you haven’t noticed Ziggy is pretty good and is either going to replace Smith or be moved to the middle to replace Snack. Cam Heyward will replace either end as well.

Overrated?? More like underrated. Our secondary gives him a bad rep but, he hasn’t let a WR get over 100 on him since I think ’09 vs. the Texans….and that was Dre Johnson. When Ike is manned up he is one of the best in the game he just doesn’t get the pub that Revis does because the Jets have no stars in their front 7 but, still get it done. So he gets put on a pedastal and fakes a hammy injury when he gets beat deep by Moss.

Ike plays on a team where on defense he is about the 6th or 7th name you think of. Because of that people think he is not good. Last year the 2 WR’s to go over 100 yards in the reg season were Roddy and T.O….who were both gaurded by McFadden.

Go ahead and watch the games where we were shredded by the Pack and Pats and try and find plays where Ike gets beat consistently. Because he wasn’t. Willie Gay allowed 3 Grokowski TD’s against the pats and their other tds were a Brady rush and a pick 6.

Overrated, likely overpaid, and without Polamalu, likely will get beat over the top on a regular basis. But since he wears Black and Yellow (NOT gold), the Steeler bots will praise him ’til the cows come home. Let’s see how well he does now that age will start catching up with him (and Hampton, and Keisel, and Aaron Smith, and Polamalu, and, well you get the point).

Steelers Bots will praise him – Funny, I have heard MANY Browns fans wanted the stains to sign Ike to play opposite of Hayden.

And you list of old players, most of which the Steelers already have their replacement on the roster, are STILL better than anyone on the Browns.

It’s just so cute that you know football better than HOF’er Dick LeBeau, Troy Polamalu himself who lobbied and Mike Tomlin, who won some hardware as the DB coach of Tampa when they won their Lombardi.

But still, it’s great to see some of you chumps think you can break it down.

What do you call a tractor pulling a hay wagon full of Packer fans? The Green Bay Mass Transit System.

What do you call 14 mobile homes surrounded by chain link fence? A Green Bay gated community.

And he’s also not even close to the most important guy on their defense. Other than Ryan Clark and whichever crappy corner lines up on the other side, I would consider Ike the least valuable member of the Steelers defense. My real hope is they did not grossly overpay to keep him. The only real problem I have with what the Browns fan posted is about the defensive ends. Yes it’s very true that Keisel and Aaron Smith are aging, but they have two good young replacements waiting in the wings with Ziggy Hood and Cam Heyward. They do need to work on finding a nose tackle in the very near future to take over for Big Snack (Hampton). As for Polamalu, well he’s invaluable to the defense. I consider him the captain as well as the heart and soul of the defense. That’s just not a guy you say okay, let’s replace him.

Let me get this straight, the Steelers are in the top 5 on defense nearly every year of this decade, but some dog mask wearing moron from Loserville [Cleveland] thinks he’s a better talent evaluator…

I’m confident that out of this young group of CBs (Crezdon Butler, Curtis Brown, and Cortez Allen) one of these guys can develop into Ike Taylor, hopefully with better hands. By the way Keenan Lewis blows and i hope they cut his ass.
