Getty ImagesAfter adding Julius Peppers in free agency last year, you would figure the Bears would be out on big-name defensive end free agents in 2011.
Sean Jensen says Babin is “on the Bears radar” according to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The Eagles are also looking for a defensive end. They could possibly show interest in Babin after signing his old defensive line coach Jim Washburn. Then again, Philly may be hesitant to spend big money on Babin when he didn’t make much of an impact on their 2009 team.

You’re unreadable, Mr Rosenthal…
Sean Jensen should stop talking about Sean Jensen in the third person.
Man it feels so good to read about football players and teams rather than lawyers and negotiating.
An underachiever that had a fluke year.
Jason Babin is a big name?
The Bears should target Braylon Edwards.
I felt the Bears should have traded up to draft him in 2005. For some reason it just makes sense.
Cutler, Forte, Edwards, Knox, Hester, Olsen. Sick.
Doesn’t make sense.
They got a great underrated DE lining opposite of Peppers in Idonije.
They should focus on reciever and O-line first before anything else.
Reports say Cutler has recovered from his hysterectomy after the NFCCG so I guess he’ll be playing this year.
It’s really nice to read something not Lockout related..
Bears want Babin? really? Thats why the Lions and Packers will rule the NFC North for years to come.
Jason Babin says he owes everything to his d-line coach Jim Washburn and he is the Eagles D-line coach. You can connect the dots from there.
As a Bears fan, let me say “For the love of God, NO!” Idonije, while not elite, is just fine opposite Peppers. They need to focus on getting a quality DT and not another end who just had a decent contract year.
If the Bears were smart they would go hard after James Jones and Cullen Jenkins. I hope they’re not that smart.
Forget the WRs, DL, DBs.
Offensive line first.
Not what they need at all.
O line 1st and then a big WR.
Get your head out of your pooper Jerry Angelo.
I haven’t seen Sean Jensen break a piece of Bears news since coming to Chicago. I’d believe it if it came from Brad Biggs.
I’ll tell you what though, a big white d-end would sell a lot of jerseys in Chicago, just saying.
I dunno I think Babin was pretty damn good with the Eagles in 09. They just wouldnt give him a chance. Everytime he was on the field he was making a play. That was 1 of the biggest thing the Eagles did in 09 that I didnt get. If the guy was doing so good why wouldnt you play him?
It made no sense then and it definitely didnt make any sense last year when he was putting up all those numbers.
That Marinelli, always in Lovie’s ear demanding Defensive Ends. First Gaines Adams, then Peppers, now this…..
