With All Pro Chargers tight end Antonio Gates injured for much of the 2011 season, Randy McMichael started 11 games.

And though Gates is healthy again, McMichael has decided to remain in San Diego.

Per a league source, McMichael will sign a one-year deal with the Chargers.  He’ll get the one-year minimum salary of $910,000 in his 10th NFL season.

McMichael spent his first five years with the Dolphins, starting every game.  He then joined the Rams for three seasons, signing last year in San Diego.

A good fantasy option when Gates goes down and you need a spot start or 11…

That is a great bargain for a talented tight end. That will make for a pretty dangerous two tight end formation.
