We were leery last night when websites and Twitter pages of which we’d never heard and/or that we never frequent were churning out scores of reports on undrafted free agents. But when the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ran with the notion that West Virginia running back Noel Devine had agreed to terms with the Falcons, we assumed it was legit.
Ass. You. Me.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Devine has not agreed to terms with the Falcons, and that he remains a free agent.
The Falcons made little sense for Devine, given that he has a style similar to fifth-round rookie Jacquizz Rodgers.
Devine was expected to be a mid-round pick in 2010. He opted to come back for his senior season, and a foot injury suffered against LSU hurt his production — and killed his draft stock.
