What team wants this guy in their locker room for even a few weeks?

The day he gets cut, it’s almost assumed he would go out and write an article or do a “Super Exclusive” interview about any skeleton in the closet that will make him a buck. The guy talked trash about his former team… THE YEAR THEY WON THE SUPER BOWL!!

With that said, I hope the Cowboys sign him to be the lead back for $10+MM/year

Tiki and Plaxico both have the same fundamental problem. They both have had good (but not stellar) NFL careers thus far and both feel they have a lot left to give and can still play at a high level. However, from the teams’ point of view, they are both getting old, have been out of the game for a couple of years and have significant character concerns. There is no guarantee that either of them will still have the ability and/or motivation to perform at the level they did before they left the game.

So this leaves a bit of a mismatch of expectations. Plax and Tiki both feel they should generate a lot of interest and have the luxury of picking the team they want to play for. But the reality is that the teams thay they want to play for may very well not want them. In fact, it is struggling teams that are more likely to want to take a flier. They may also have to face a reality check with regard to salary – they will feel entitled to a lot more than teams will be willing to give.

I think the compromise will be that they will both get short incentive-laden deals with little guaranteed money from ‘trendy’ but needy franchises like the Cowboys or Vikings

I think Tiki is going to surprise alot of people if put in the right situation. He has never had a major injury and fixed his fumbling issues. I am not saying he is going to lead the league in rushing, but I think he can still contribute on third downs, and give a starter a breather from time to time. With that being said, he probably will not even get an opportunity.
