Vick loses endorsement after accepting deal with competitor

Eagles quarterback Mike Vick has been piling up endorsements lately. And he has accumulated so many that he reportedly agreed to deals with two competing companies.

According to Bloomberg.com (via SportsBusiness Daily), Fuse Science, Inc. has dumped Vick after the quarterback signed an endorsement deal with MusclePharm. Vick had signed a contract with Fuse Science earlier in the month.

“Subsequent to our entering into and announcing the exclusive agreement, we learned that on or about July 20, 2011, Mr. Vick entered into an endorsement agreement with another company engaged in the same product categories, notwithstanding the exclusivity provisions of our agreement,” Fuse Science’s parent company, Double Eagle, said in a filing with the SEC, per the report. “This created an unacceptable conflict and, accordingly, on July 25, 2011, we terminated the agreement with Mr. Vick.”

It’s the equivalent of Vick cutting a deal with Reebok or UnderArmour in the wake of signing a deal with Nike.
