@slotcat - there you go putting words in my mouth. I never said “Derp, if Kolb is worth a first rounder, than TonY RomO is worth 1637 first rounders, derp!”.
And once again, what I'm saying is being taken out of context. I never said Kolb had Jesus accuracy with the deep ball. I simply said that he doesn't have a noodle arm, because he doesn't.

Just because I defend Kolb in some areas doesn't mean that I think he's an elite level player. I really could care less about Kolb. It's just ridiculous to say that he has no trade value, when in fact he does.

I look very smart for calling you out for blatantly posting things that are not true. And you are highly over-rating the Eagle's O-Line. And from the looks of things, the majority of people that have read my posts, and read yours, seem to agree with me. The fact that you're arguing with me about Kolb, because I won't say that he just flat out sucks, shows that you know nothing about football. You are the kind of scrub that says "Derp, if Kolb is worth a first rounder, than TonY RomO is worth 1637 first rounders, derp!". I never said Kolb was great, I merely showed stats. In fact, I said that I don't think Kolb is the best quarterback in free agency or involved in trade talks. Why are you arguing with me? Because I don't think that the Eagles should trade Kolb for a 7th rounder and call it a day? Read and evaluate what I say before you respond to it, and study your statistics.

@melonnhead

I agree with what you are saying totally. Andy Reid is a master of the West Coast Offense, and nearly any quarterback with a margin of talent could win games under him. AJ Feely nearly beat the unstoppable Patriots in Andy Reid's system, and I don't know a person on Earth that considers Feely an elite QB. I was merely explaining WHY teams such as Arizona or Seattle might would have interest in him.

Andy Reid might not be the best game-day coach, but he's excellent at drafting, and is one of the sharpest offensive minds in the game today.

When did I say that his arm strength is what makes him a valuable QB? I never did. I’d much prefer someone with a decent arm and tremendous accuracy than some one with a rocket arm, who can’t make the throws that an NFL starting QB is expected to make. I simply stated statistical evidence that shows that Kolb in fact does NOT have a weak arm.

Fact : Kevin Kolb did not throw more interceptions than touchdowns last year. Read up on your stats before you speak.

And the Eagles O-line doing a poor job of protecting Kolb doesn’t bring down Kolb’s value. That is just common sense.

And thirdly, if he goes to Arizona, he would be throwing to Larry Fitzgerald. I love Jackson and Maclin, but if you think any QB in this league wouldn’t love having the opportunity to throw at an elite talent like Fitzgerald, you need your head checked.

Go sit in the corner, drink a juicebox, and let the people who actually know what they’re talking about speak. You know, the few people on this website, that can actually back up what they’re saying with proof and statistical evidence.

@Slothcat - my bad 7 ints 7tds.. still no what I would call stellar.

and the Eagles OL is better than the Cards, so he'll get hit MORE not less.

Thirdly, I'd take Maclin, Jackson, McCoy, Celek over Fitz, Doucet(Breaston is a FA), Hightower?, and Patrick. Better supporting cast only makes the QB look that much better. Plus, with no help, Fitz will get easily get doubled and no running game = more pressure on the QB.

The last point I'll make is that Philly is consistently in the playoffs year in year out... The Cardinals will be struggling this season with or without Kolb.

Yeah, you look real smart calling me out and looking foolish the way you do.

But these things are actual statistics, and facts…something that a large amount of PFT viewers seem to have a problem with.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Well it's A stat, anyway. A stat that's more reliant on the receiver's performance than the QB's performance, but whatever.

Another stat: For his career Kolb is 7 of 36 in passes to points 21 yards downfield or more. That's a 19% completion percentage. If you'd like something to compare that to, AJ Feeley was 13 of 69 (18.8%) over his career.

I love all these people calling Orton a “winner”. He had EXCELLENT defenses in chicago and got benched for grossman twice. He can’t complete a pass over 25 yards without looking like he just blew out his shoulder. He’s so boring and would never win a playoff game against a half-decent defense that defends the short-medium game well, because Orton has zero deep game.

No running game, no defense, and noodle arm neckbeard at qb = 2-14. At least you’ll get luck!

Wow, 3600 yards in 12 and a half games, turning Brandon Lloyd into a pro bowler and a top 100 player and he has a noodle arm? He threw the ball down the field a lot the last two seasons.

I can tell you don't watch much football. A winner is someone who wins. That's why we call people that.

Kolb has looked mediocre at best with his 3-4 record. We'll see how it plays out but he's definitely not worth a starting caliber DB and a high draft pick.

Here’s what I don’t get. How can people act like AZ has great weapons, when in fact it’s just Larry. No line, no running game, and Breaston is gone. How is this appealing to a QB again?

At least the hawks have a revamped line, Marshawn Lynch, and a solid receiving corps. From a QB’s perspective, Seattle is the obvious choice

Seattle has a solid receiving corps??

So.... since he's only played in a small sampling of games, wouldn't you attribute the value that the teams interested in trading for him to be based on their analysis of his potential? It's really no different than paying an outrageous amount to a high rookie draft pick who has never taken an NFL snap, except in this case at least they have some regular season NFL experience to go by.
Also, it's funny all the people saying Kolb has a noodle arm, or a weak arm. Kolb has a hell of an arm. It's not Aaron Rodgers or Vick-esque, but he has a big arm none the less. Just because you say something enough times doesn't make it gospel. Let's use some logic in this situation.

Fact : Since 2009 Kolb has connected on as many 60+ yard TD passes as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.....on 1/4 of the attempts.

Fact : Since 2009 Kolb has connected on more 60+ yard TD passes than Drew Brees, Jay Cutler, Phillip Rivers, Matt Schaub, and Donovan Mcnabb.

Fact : Kolb might not have the arm McNabb has, but so far early in his career he’s thrown a TD of 60 yards or more once every 78 attempts. McNabb in his career has thrown one every 382 attempts.

But these things are actual statistics, and facts...something that a large amount of PFT viewers seem to have a problem with.

Kolb put up over 40 points against the Falcons in routing them. He won on the road at SF. When given a good line, Kolb is very effective an accurate.
For all of you people saying that Kevin Kolb hasn't done anything to deserve this kind of recognition, you're probably right, however he does deserve a little bit.

Fact : In his first two starts he combined for more passing yards than any QB in NFL history did in their first two starts.

Fact : He torched the Falcons last year. The Falcons were a pretty good team last year.

Fact : In games Kevin Kolb has started, finished, and had the 1st stringers on the field with him, he's never thrown for under 230 yards in a game.

Also, the Eagles know how to draft and mold offensive players. Most experts thought that Desean Jackson was too small to play WR in the NFL, and now he's a 2 or 3 time Pro Bowler with multiple 1000+ yard seasons, and is the only player to have been chosen for a Pro Bowl at two different positions.

Michael Vick went from being a laughable QB to an MVP candidate pocket passer AND runner, in only 2 years under Reid.

Jeremy Maclin played in a spread offense...A lot of people thought it would take him a long time to get used to an NFL style offense, and in only his second year he flirted with 1000 yards, and 10 td's.

Lesean Mccoy was brought in as a "Westbrook clone", and has already progressed a lot further than Westbrook did at the same time in his career.

My point? Andy Reid knows offense, and the Eagles know how to draft offensive players. I'm not saying Kolb is the end all, be all of quarterbacks, and I'm not saying he's even the best QB in this free-agent or trade talk class. However, based on what Andy Reid has done in the past, and his ability to produce great offensive players, there are going to be plenty of people willing to give up a small fortune to get Kolb.

I'm going to laugh my butt off at a lot of people here if Kolb goes to Arizona or Seattle and tears it up.

I think he'd excel more in Arizona with Fitz to rely on and a little better protection than Seattle, (a lil). If Big Mike Williams plays like he did last year or even improves, he's going to be a real nice target to throw to also.

One big problem, though,... is that Kolb is absolutely horrible at the long ball, he's more of a game manager type...that's why having an all pro like Larry to lean on would be perfect for a QB like Kevin. In No way do I think he's horrible though. He's definitely better than AJ Feely ever was as a franchise QB prospect.

let me first say that i dont think KOLB is going to be elway.. but he is more talented than half the starters in the league.. he has more upside then a dated Orton who MIGHT have 1or 2 good seasons left. (before you preach on him, remember who he was in Chicago)

the only knock on Kolb is his pop gun arm..
I've seen Kolb play, honestly i wouldnt give a 3rd up for him. The dude cant throw more than 45 yds. (ask Riley Cooper).

for you stat junkies who obviously havent seen him play, 4 int's came against the best defense in the league in 09' / ravens. discount that game and he is about .500 on Int to TD.

Honestly i dont think he is worth even DRC straight up, but realisticly i see us only being able to get DRC& 4th rounder for him.

Seattle, let go straight up Loffa Tatupo for Kolb..

& after all this i would like everyone to remember AJ Feeley to Miami,, that was awesome.
