Giants running back Brandon Jacobs appears willing to take a pay cut and stay with the Giants, who would spend some of the savings on a deal to retain free agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger reports that Jacobs is open to the possibility of restructuring his contract, which is set to pay him a $4.65 million base salary this season. That would help the Giants stay under the salary cap and still get a deal done with Bradshaw.

Jacobs said in March that he would be willing to take a pay cut as long as it’s “fair.” It appears that the Giants are getting closer to an offer that would satisfy Jacobs and free up some cap space for Bradshaw.

Last season Bradshaw started 11 games and finished the year with 276 carries for 1,235 yards. Jacobs started five games and had 147 carries for 823 yards.
