Chargers re-sign Antwan Barnes

AP

San Diego re-signed their fourth player in two days Wednesday night, bringing back outside linebacker Antwan Barnes on a two-year contract.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune has the news and also wondered if money will be left to sign inside linebacker Kevin Burnett at this point.

The Chargers have spent big money on safety Eric Weddle and Takeo Spikes.  Burnett reportedly wants more than $5 million-per-year, but he may have priced himself off the Chargers.

  1. Nice signing for not a lot of money. The Jets were pursuing Barnes too. Thumbs up for AJ’s moves so far.

Come on back Kevin Burnett. Sure you can get a slightly bigger paycheck playing for a lesser team. But how many teams have a HOF QB in his prime, primed to win multiple Lombardis in the next few years?

  2. Great signing and a great value. This pass rush specialist was very effective in obvious passing situations. I thought the Jets might steal him because he played for Ryan in Bal, but he is a Charger.

    Not the Chargers.
All they have is a hot head who gets half his yards on dump-offs to RBs and chokes in the playoffs,

  4. @flakazoid, are you joking> most of his yards on small dump-offs?…have you ever played football? and not at the high school level?….PR is on the most complete QBs in the league, small dump-offs and long passes. Your should be worried about your QB, he might be married now, but let’s wait for the next time his flashes another girl in public…
