Getty ImagesIt’s really hard to imagine Lance Moore playing for a team other than the Saints. And it looks like we won’t have to imagine that for a while longer.
The wide receiver broke the news himself via Twitter:
“Welp, its been real New Orleans . . . But let’s make the next five years even more real. I’m coming back baby!!! #whodat,” Moore wrote.
Moore is a Drew Brees favorite. As Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune points out, Brees usually gets what he wants when it comes to the Saints offense.
With Robert Meachem and Marques Colston entering the final years of their respective contracts, getting Moore signed long-term was a priority. It is telling Moore was the first of New Orleans’ 26 free agents to be brought back.

I hope you give me some fantasy production
He had 66 catches and 8TD’s last year. He just got a 5 year contract.
Oh Yeah! Check one off of the Saints free-agency wish list!
I’ve said all along Lance Moore was priority number one among that free agent list. Saints fans know this to be true.
Who Dat!
Glad we got him back, the dude does not drop passes AT ALL and goes HUGE in clutch situations. WHO DAT!
I don’t even think that guy had any followers tbh.
This guy is good.
Another great move by the Saints front office. Next priority is Bushrod.
lance moore is a joke
Happy to have Moore back on the Saints. That dude is clutch and has great hands.
great move. Moore is underated and would definetely have higher stats if he was playing on a team that didnt have so many receiver options like the Saints do
@eaglesfootballfan He also made a clutch catch in the Superbowl instead of, you know, throwing up in the huddle.
A few years back Romeo Crennel put Braylon Edwards behind Lance Moore on the Brown’s depth chart to try to make a point about Braylon holding out of camp. The joke being that the talented first round wide receiver had to start behind some no-name from Toledo that wasn’t even going to make the team. That only lasted about a day. I would have much rather seen them hold on that no-name from Toledo than that “talented” first rounder.
Lance Moore is the most underrated WR in the league. He is Drew Brees’ best option.
