Top 51 begins at 4:01 p.m., New York time

All Clubs must be within the Salary Cap at 4:01 p.m., New York time

All 2011 contracts signed on or after July 26 become effective at 4:01 p.m., New York time, assuming NFLPA has ratified the CBA

The August 4th date is for 2012 I presume? That first Cap ‘thing’ of 3 Mil is kinda lame way of saying the Cap is 123.4 Million! Hardly the thing an agent would need to be REMINDED of!

Teams can designate up to $1 million of three 5-year-plus veterans’ base salaries above the minimum to be applied in any proportion to the 2014-2017 caps, for a total of $3 million. The third item is just the standard bonus proration that has existed since the cap started.
