Sure hes not the absolute best Kicker I have seen in my many years of watching football but his leg strength will be a major asset for this team under the new kickoff rules,(at least in the 1st half of the season).

Anybody out there that is hoping for a Packers SB hangover, you might want to think again. You can thank the lockout for that, after 4 + months of rest and rejuvenation everyone I have seen so far is amped about getting back to work and defending that title.

Im not gonna say they will repeat but the team is loaded with talent and the sky is the limit for them. Can’t wait to get started, training camp is gonna be fun to watch this year.

In fact, I’d take his leg strength over his accuracy any day.
That said, the dude not only is asked to kick a disproportionate number of 50+ yarders, but is also asked to do so in wind, rain, snow, freezing temps, etc.

Apparently he was so “crappy” he helped the Packers win the Super Bowl. He has a leg that can kick in wet, cold weather.
Also, if you cut him you can sign Harlan “Quikick” Mergatroidski from the long list of Super Bowl winning kickers just waiting for employment on the free agent list.(snicker and sigh)

Let’s ease up there Mr. Head of the Crosby Fan club. He was good from close range and thats about it. Any average kicker can come play for Green Bay and have just as much success when you have a high powered offense like they do

He doesn’t have the strongest leg but he’s money from 0-29 yards (40/41) and 30-39 yards he’s (31/38) in his career.

One thing for sure is that the Packers will move the ball and most likely end up in his 0-29 yard comfort zone most often. That’s piece of mind for McCarthy know that he won’t need to break in a new kicker.
