Sure would be nice to get back a tall receiver of that caliber … assuming he still has the goods. But the price is too steep when we have more pressing needs at corner and o-line. Come on home, Plax … if you’re willing to come cheap.

The Steelers will never pay big $$$ for a free agent including Plex. Unless they would cut Hindes to save $$$ and that will never happen. As stated in other posts the Steelers want to sign Timmons etc to long term contracts. Plex has been out of football a few years so it will be all “ABOUT THE $$$”. However, having said this, DISCO DUI has lost more than a few steps and this is will be his last year. Ben wants at least 1 tall reciever. WISHFUL THINKING!!!

anyone that remembers the 07-08 season with plax playing on a mangled ankle knows why teams aren’t hesitating to sign him. i would give him a 2 year 10 million incentive based contract in a heartbeat.

i wouldnt say that the Steelers dont bring back players . They brought Randle EL , Larry Foote , Leftwich and Mcfadden back last season . I say its more like they land Burress over Barber . Bring him back . The offense would be sick .

I wouldn’t mind having Plax back, but it would only happen at the right price. Steelers seem to have a nice deep group of WRs but Plax could be a specialist since he is tall. Can’t have enough talented WRs. Injuries happen.

Steel city is good for receivers. I really cannot imagine the Giants taking him back. I know they need receivers, but I just don’t see it. There’s only one football and we already have some great young talented receivers. No way we’d want to sacrifice any of them for Plax after his lil’ run for the money stunt with the Steelers. Steeler philosophy is that you’ll make good money… but we’re here to win football games first.

Wallace (deep threat) and Burris (possession wr) on the outside , Ward in the slot , or give Sanders the other side opposite of Wallace while Burris gets in game ready and knows the playbook.

Speed is nice, but conditioning and technique can make make up for that. You can’t out 6’6″ someone.

Although a big red zone target at wideout is something the Steelers lack, I’d still much rather use the money to work a deal for Woodley, and extend Timmons and Troy.

The Steelers are not hurting at the WR position with Wallace, Ward, E Sanders, and Antonio “3rd and 19″ Brown.

Ok…this makes you think a bit. Buress could come back to his old roots. I guess i wouldnt mind. I never hated Buress. Good football player but obviouslly has the issues off field. The way I see it…Ben has always wanted a taller reciever. And we keep getting 5ft guys. Lima Sweed obviouslly…ther is just no hope. I think with the couple years he has left he could do some damage for us again. i wouldnt bet my money on him coming back only because we dont usually take back guys we give the boot to. On the other hand tho, it could play out well because he has ZERO room for error. He has to play the Mike Vick card now….family first…god this..blah blah blah. Which would be good…if he could stick to it. Whatever happens happens. id like to see Buress play again regardless. i dont care about guys off field issues. People are people and everyone has their own drama. I watch football for football. This isnt tmz.com.

I don’t see how Pittsburgh would be a fit. Mike Wallace is an unstoppable burner, Hines Ward is still effective from the slot, and Emanuelle Sanders is a very good work in progress. But in New York, you have Steve Smith who is coming off major knee surgery, Hakeem Nicks who is kind of inury-prone.

Burress is a beast. Why is there a suprise that anyone would want him. Y’all act like he killed somebody. He only shot himself. After getting made fun of by all of his friends and doing more time than Stalworth, I think he’s paid the price. let him play!

Says a lot about the guy if both coaches want to discuss bringing him back. So, why aren’t other teams taking note of that and bringing him in? Especially all the assistants he must have worked with over the years (W’hunt in AZ, now?) that must know him, too? Strange.
