What do you want, SS3? They drafted a QB in the first round and you’re ripping them for not drafting and developing a QB. McNabb is not here to take us to a Super Bowl, he’s here to ease the transition to Ponder. Isn’t that what you keep calling for?

And you think McNabb is buying in to that plan? You think he accepts the fact that he is there to only transition to Ponder? Minnesota has no idea what they have in Ponder yet. This years offseason was so drastically different then the past that Ponder may never see the field in Minnesota. They were forced into doing what they always do because of circumstance. Drafting and developing is the only successful way to build a champion. Had Minnesota had all of their off season program they may not have been forced to make this dumb trade. Well…in their case it isnt that stupid. Its a sixth round pick. Minnesota doesnt even know what to do with a first round pick except let it expire.

Am i thrilled with McNabb? No, but seriously, who is out there? you absolutely cannot expect or demand Ponder to start game one with no ota’s, barely any training camp, getting to know coaches, learning to read nfl defenses, and such. he could be knocked out within the first 3 games and vikings would be left with nothing!! Would u rather have resigned T-Jack? granted this is not the best situation in the world but i do believe it is the best qb option this off season. I do think McNabbs last season was a direct by product of Shanahans stubbornness just like Johnson, T-Jack, Bollinger, and everyone else was a direct result of chili’s stubbornness. but under no circumstance can demand/expect Ponder to be a day one starter, the kid does need some breathing room and a little learning curve no matter what he says in the media.

Mcnabb is a quality QB as a Bears fan I woulda loved to see them try n deal Culter for Mcnabb or any other top tier QB. He will be the same type QB as Cullpepper was for the Vikes! Farve was the only glimpse of greatness the purple people eaters will see for awhile! Shame cuz Peterson is best back in the NFL and is wasting away in MN

There are four teams that have as many or more Super Bowl WINS as the Vikings have losses. There are 13 teams that have four or more Super Bowl appearances. Wasted 6th round pick by the Queens. They could have picked up McNabb from the street…..or a bunch of other possible bums. Fact is, McNabb is not what he once was. We saw what the Queens are capable of last year with a below average QB. With the Lions even tougher, I see a 4-12 season for the Purple.

They need to wake up, trade AP, blow the team up and start over around Ponder. That is what the Packers did and look what happened.

McNabb is a winning QB and he’s also been a classy guy while craziness swirled around him from T.O. to Shanahan. Regardless what anyone thinks of Vick as a person, he had an extraordinary 2010 season. And he credits Donovan with pushing him to get up early, get to the gym, study film–stuff he was never willing to do as a Falcon.

It was decent of McNabb to take Vick under his wing knowing he’d likely replace him. He’ll do the same for Ponder while also working to prove Shanahan shouldn’t have benched him. So the Vikes get a solid, savvy vet and a good teacher. Smart move.
