He spent an ass load on Holmes. I can’t see how it would financially work at all to pick up Nnamdi. I think Nnamdi is going to Houston. Rex’s desperate spending is going to send a negative message to players like Cromarti and Edwards, and they just be inclined to sign somewhere where they can feel appreciated. Holmes felt appreciated- that’s why he took less money from Rex than he could’ve made elsewhere. Cromarti and Edwards might not feel the same.

It’s true they don’t have a bigtime pass rush but with Rex’s schemes where he disguises where the rush is coming from to confuse the blocking schemes along with having a guy like Revis @ CB, they can get away with it. I think you mean their second game against the Pats, Pats lost he first and third ones last year.

In the playoff game, they didn’t really rush/blitz Brady. If you blitz him it’s usually a bad idea. What they did was cover his receivers like there was no tomorrow. Very smart gameplan and really screwed Brady up. Reminds me of how my Pats used to play Manning back when they could beat the Colts consistently.

I’m a Pats fan and I HATE the Jets, but they own my team right now, when it counts.

He doesn’t have to be Tom Brady to be successful. Say what you want about Rex, if he’s not your cup of tea…. ok. But a ton of players from other teams openly say they want to play for Rex. That should tell you something. The Pats and the Steelers are still the Gold Standard……… I get it. But it feels great to be knocking on the door.

I have to agree with green41563 here, the Jets were ranked #9 by NFL in their O-Line (it’s on the NFL webpage), which is a new stat. But looking at total offense, they were 11; passing, they were 22 (this is reflective of Sanchez, more than anything else); and rushing, they were ranked 4. Sanchez wasn’t sacked an inordinate amount of times, his numbers were comparable to Brady, Rodgers, and Brees in that category.

So I’m really curios what problems you are referring to.

As far as Sanchez, it’s his 3rd year. He may be “average” at best, but he is one of only 2 Qb’s -EVER- to reach the conference championships in his first two seasons.

I don’t think he will be the next Tom Brady/Peyton Manning/Drew Brees, but it’s not out of the question that he ends up winning a SB or two over the course of his career.
