Getty ImagesThe Falcons entered this offseason facing big questions at linebacker.
They answered one on Wednesday morning after agreeing to a five-year deal with super sub linebacker Stephen Nicholas, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
There was a report Nicholas could head to the Giants, but it looks like New York may have been used for leverage. It’s uncertain if Mike Peterson will be back with Atlanta; it’s also possible Nicholas’ role could increase in 2011.

good re-signing – Nicholas may not be a star but he is a solid starting OLB in the NFL.
Yay! Glad to have you back Stephen. Go Falcons.
I was really hoping the Giants were going to make a run at this young and talented player.
Ok, good job, guys. Now… no more signings until we get Clabo, Dahl, and/or Blaylock. Keep Matty Ice upright!!!
Nicholas is highly underrated. Good call keeping him around.
