The Seahawks are making it clear that Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst are on equal footing.

ESPN.com reports Jackson will earn $8 million over the next two seasons from Seattle. That’s a better deal than we expected, and it just so happens to be almost identical to Whitehurst’s contract.

You could argue Jackson actually has a leg up on Whitehurst because he’s played for Seahawks coordinator Darrell Bevell. In fact, we just made that argument. It was a lot of fun.
