Eagles…Please sign the ‘Pocket Rocket’. Game breaking situational player. Just imagine, Vick, DeSean, Shady, Macklin, Sproles. That’s a world class relay team and a defensive nightmare. Though I like Bradshaw as well.

I’d like Sproles on the Eagles. Devine and Lewis are undrafted free agents. Sproles is proven.

And there is about as much chance of Bradshaw coming to Philly as there is of Carson Palmer playing for the Bengals this year. Why would a good starter in his prime come to back up McCoy?

Sproles may decide that if the pay is not going to be great, and his role would be the same, to just play to in SD cheap. He is a quiet guy (REAL SHY) and may not want to go somewhere new. He is comfortable in SD and he already got a huge payday the last 2 seasons pulling in about 15 mil.

DeSean will still return punts with the Eagles, just on a more selective basis, the way they used Westbrook.
Meaning…only late in the game when they really need a score or at least good field position for a field goal attempt.

Dude, Michael is a restricted free agent. Not sure if it still applies, but he got a 1st and 3rd round tender. Phila will not do that for Bush. It was a great pick by Al Davis tho. First pick of the 4th round on day 2. I was like U hoping the Raiders would take him and we did. Great Move by Mr. Davis.

If the Eagles intended on signing Darren Sproles, they wouldn’t have picked up the undrafted free agents they did (Noel Devine and Dion Lewis), who are the same types of running backs.

I hope for his own sake that he can come to terms with taking a pay cut, regardless of who signs him, because there’s no way that anyone is stupid enough to pay him the kind of money San Diego has been paying him. It’s laughable that they franchised him to begin with, let alone twice.

He’s a good change of pace back for the Eagles, but they drafted Dion Lewis and signed Noel Devine. I’m not saying these rookies are better than Sproles, but in the situation that McCoy goes down with an injury, is Sproles really the guy you want to take 15-20 carries? I’d rather have a guy who is big and strong enough to be a capable full time runner if necessary.

I’d prefer a LB like Tulloch but if Sproles comes relatively cheap, which I assume he would considering we already have a starting RB, it may be a good fit. KO, PR, and 3rd and 5s…he’d be a good fit for those roles.

McCoy is 6 foot and bigger than you think he is.

But yeah i don’t see why the Eagles would pay for a third guy who is the same as the two they got in draft and undrafted free agents.

Devine is going to be a monster for this team if he can hold physically for 15-20 plays a game. I think he can and i also think he may be an even better return man than Djax because he will be sooooo hard to find behind the blockers. I would like to see the Eagles go look at LeRon McClain as well for a full back as he is a great blocker and a decent pass catcher. And i even though i like Owen Schmidt because he is a crazy lunatic, he doesn’t have the talent McClain does.

All that being said competion is a good thing so if the little guy wants to come here i’m all for it. But i see him replacing Reggie Bush in NO.

I appreciate Sproles’ hard work and the many big plays he made for the Chargers. But he’s misplaced his kick-return mojo and his only value now is as a situational player on offense. The Chargers drafted Jordan Todman. If the Chargers were able to make a star out of Sproles they should be able to do the same with Todman, for the cap price of a 6th round draft choice.

For the Bolts, the money Sproles is asking is better allocated toward keeping Malcom Floyd, or finding an equal No. 2 receiver if Floyd signs elsewhere.

I don’t mean to bag on Sproles; I respect him immensely. But his value is limited.

I can see the Eagles really going after him to help Shady and handle the kickoff/punt duties. Kickoff return has been a weak spot for years and the Eagles don’t want DeSean returning punts if they give him a new deal.
