We noted this afternoon that veteran linebacker Joey Porter had been given an offer from the Cardinals: Take a pay cut or get cut.
Porter has chosen the pay cut.
Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Porter adjusted his contract and is still a Cardinal. We noted a few times in the offseason that this situation could come up, as Porter’s contract would have been easy to dump.
At age 34, Porter is nowhere near the player he once was, but he still started 14 games for the Cardinals in 2010 and is apparently going to start for the Cardinals again in 2011.
