Good coaches are always 90% buttholes; that’s how they get players to do what they want. I like that Steve Breaston says what he means, both in interviews and via his lockout video. I prefer honesty to the same canned PR responses most players give.

Why do as fans really care if Haley’s a butthole or not.

Looking back on it. The biggest a-hole bosses, coaches, and teachers all got the most out of me.

Herm Edwards was a “nice guy” and look how many games we won under him….I’m all for Haley’s approach personally. We made the playoffs, were a well conditioned team, and got more production out of players like Dwayne Bowe and Derrick Johnson than Herm Edwards could even dream of. Glad to have you on board Steve! GO CHIEFS!

You really have to grade these sort of things on a sliding scale with likes of Tom Cable, Brad Childress & Eric Mangini having recently occupying head coaching positions in the NFL. And, of course, Rex Ryan sets the “toe-bending” curve.
