The Eagles are serious about Favre. They haven’t signed him to a contract yet, but they’ve already put him on their injury list.

Well i guess one thing is for sure some owners didn’t learn any lessons. Some of these guys are way over payed

It’s not a big name, but Raiders reportedly signed Jarvis Moss to a cheap 1-year deal.

Nnamdi is a California guy, who was given a chance by Al davis. Many at the time thought Davis took him too early with nearly the last pick in the first round. Nnamdi’s also been very quiet during the whole lockout period, which if you know his style should not surprise you. I do believe he is leaving, but I also think there is a small chance he takes a smaller salary to stay and help anchor the Raider defense he’s worked so hard to help build up. This is an NFL player with tremendous character, who spends much of his time helping underprivelaged children. It may not be all about money with him.

That being said, I still think he’s gone.

76 million for Charles Johnson wins for the most asinine contract agreed upon thus far. WTF were the Panthers thinking?

Resigning Alex Smith is proof enough for me that Jim Harbaugh has his eye on Luck next year.

    @MichaelEdits

You really gonna make an injury joke about Brett Favre who holds the record for most games started in a row.

Chiefs signed three of their own:

    Wiegmann
    Copper
    Daniels

  12. bearsrulepackdrool says: Jul 27, 2011 1:58 AM

    Chiefs re-signed Casey Wiegmann
Bucs signed the first rookie: Adrian Claybourn
Vikes took my boy Devin Aromashadu (he shoulda been Cutler’s #1 target. He came on strong two years ago but never flourished.)

The Raiders are also negotiating with OT Jerad Gaither of the Ravens and Safety Dashon Goldson of the Niners.

Aromashadou? He got benched week 1. Soft as they come. Like berrian, but slower. But it’s not like you wildly overpaid berrian… Oh, wait…

  15. louisianamatt says: Jul 27, 2011 2:30 AM

@djax10.. The panthers were probably thinking somewhere along the lines of.. “we lost Julius Peppers last season, we can’t afford to lose another top-of-the-line defensive end in a division with 3 stud quarterbacks, he’s only 24 or 25 (not sure), the team he was going to go to if we didn’t pay him was the Atlanta Falcons, where we’d have to deal with this guy for the next 6-8 years, twice a year. Also everyone, including you I’m sure, has lambasted Jerry Richardson for being Soo cheap, thus this was an aggressive move by a franchise who’s on the rise with one of the harder-working quarterbacks in the league for years to come.” talent-wise this team is not far away if Cam can become what some of us think he can become.. So all negativity aside, it was a necessary move that will do nothing but help this franchise.. Hope we can get a CB now like Chriss Carr for a 2-yr deal, would be niiice..

There is a lot of contracts on this list that are too much and *AndyReidisfat with his comment – The owners did not learn much during the lockout.

What stuck out to me is T. Jackson getting a 2 year 8 million dollar contract. I am not sure the complete details of contract but 8 million for an unproven qb with little to no experience. This type of spending makes little to no sense!

If this is the direction of the league, there will be more problems in the future.

  18. daboltfan says: Jul 27, 2011 3:27 AM

I feel that i should also add that Bob Sanders is also joining the chargers as a free agent. Old news, but all info should be in one place.

  19. madenatewell says: Jul 27, 2011 3:37 AM

The panthers signing of Johnson was smart…he’d most likely be a falcon otherwise, plus he’s 25 and will anchor that d-line for a long time now.

    MIN signed Devin Aromashadu
    OAK signed Jarvis Moss

Also props to my boys from Boise State who got signed today!

  20. title13xtown says: Jul 27, 2011 4:16 AM

Clearly the owners have already forgotten why we had a lockout.

No wonder the Mannings and Bradys feel they deserve 30 million a year…..look at what some of these chumps are getting,

Hey owners….your profits are low because you give CRAP players INSANE contracts.

The Packers draft and develop guys like Desmond Bishop then keep them in house with reasonable contracts while loser cry about being broke franchises like Jacksonville give 42 million to mediocre Bills trash.

Players are greedy but the owners are stupid old men.

“Resigning Alex Smith is proof enough for me that Jim Harbaugh has his eye on Luck next year.”

No way. If so, they wasted a 2nd round pick this year that they’ll never recoup.
I’d think the Redskins are going to tank it with Beck for Luck.

I agree with djax on the Johnson contract. Who gives a guy that flashed for one year (a contract year at that) that much money? They must be 30 million under the cap or something. Like the commercial says, “Rosenhaus strikes again.”

I love this list! I’ll be checking it every day.

    _________________

Re-signing Smith assures the 49ers that they won’t be ABLE to draft Luck next year. It was a one year contract, his veteran presence will allow for competitiveness from a 49er team that has good talent and make for an easier transition to Colin Kaepernick.

It doesn’t surprise me that somebody is naive enough to mention this, stupid people are all around. It only surpises me that 55 people liked this comment and only 11 people were smart enough to know that it was a stupid statement. Apparently, 80% of the people on PFT are mindless zombies.

Genius statement…moron. For as long as Alex Smith has been the QB for the Niners, how many times were they the worst team in the league? Never. Now the Niners roster actually has talent throughout it, and you really think they are going to get the number 1 pick??? Stop posting on this site, and go back to 4th grade and re-start your education where you left it.

  30. ginnitti says: Jul 27, 2011 11:11 AM

Draft picks are a last priority right now for teams as they have a 5-7 window to address their own free agent signings, or bid on other unrestricted free agents to fill their needs. Teams already own rights to draft picks so they’ll be a final priority…

  36. lee3022 says: Jul 27, 2011 11:26 PM

Too much money that has to be spent to make minimums and too little talent has inflated the market as predicted. However the Redskins have made their splash and the Panthers as well. The real market perhaps can now settle down to more reality.

It only takes two teams that want a player (often one is last year’s team) to bid the contract up to ridiculous. Welcome to the new CBA.

Your not to smart. Every year it’s the same thing. Smith has no threat down field therefore teams stack the line. Smith runs out of bounds on 3rd down short of the first all the time. If you have Westbrook and gore and can’t complete a dump pass in the the flat for first down. How many 3rd down conversions does he have? 3 and out 3 and out all day then blame the defense. Joke excuses. After 7 years the guy should have more TDs than ints but 22 ints and 20 tds. Tell me that’s the OL or receivers or defense. Crap crap crap is all I hear. Keep dreaming.
