First I would like to point out, that I am not a Dolphins fan, but I beleive they will be a much improved team this year. If they get Orton, he would improve their offense, but as a Broncos fan I would tell you that Orton is a player that tries hard, & is pretty consistent, but I’ve always felt he misses something. I don’t know what it is, but when you are talking about QB’s, there is a very fine line that separates “good” from “great”. But all in all, Miami is clearly an improving team.

I kinda hope we gave up a 2nd round pick. That way we know we don’t have to embarrass ourselves with it in April. Let’s just hope that this highly drafted RB from the Saints turns out to be as productive as the last one we got from them. I would have rather had about a half dozen other FAs including one of our own two. Oh well, he’s a Dolphin now so I wish him all the best.

Now that people have finally accepted that Bush is a scat-back and not going to change the face of the NFL…and his 9+ ypc were a mirage resulting from the combination of a pro caliber line and way more offensive weapons than most teams to match up…he’s a solid fit. 5-10 carries and 3-5 catches a game, and he will have impact, albeit limited.

Miami needed speed, and he and Edmund Gates give them that. Now Marshall and Bess aren’t the only two jerseys defenses have to worry about.

Injury is a major concern with Bush, obviously, and as a Dolfan I certainly hope they hold on to Sheets, who could learn a LOT from Bush and really contribute when Reggie misses time (which he will).

Still, it looks like a solid move for Miami.

Of course, they still need to either land Orton or hope Henne takes a big step up, but…a good move to add a necessary part.

It’ll make for some interesting discussion in regards to Daniel Thomas and Mark Ingram’s fantasy value now. Ingram’s backfield gets slightly less crowded but we knew all know Bush isn’t an every down back. This could actually increase Thomas’ value because this tells us the Dolphins plan on using him as the work horse.

Now go get Orton(lowest int % on deep balls), Vince(highest completion % on deep balls) to start or Bulger to help coach up Henne. If Bulger is the option and the then go get a RG too to help the run game. I personally would like Orton because he is smart and Henne could then be resigned for a relatively low price next season. Pennington taught Henne about the short game now bring in Orton to teach him about the deep ball. Henne will be a late bloomer in his career but can be very very good.

Production just wasn’t there. He had some great games but not consistently and too many injuries.
