Saints acquire Jonathon Amaya in Reggie Bush trade

The exact compensation the New Orleans Saints received for trading Reggie Bush to the Dolphins hasn’t been revealed, but one player who’s part of the trade has been named.

Safety Jonathon Amaya is heading to the Saints, ESPN reports.

Amaya signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada-Reno last year and played in 10 regular-season games as a key special teams contributor. He led the Dolphins with 15 tackles in kick coverage in 2010.

Said Dolphins coach Tony Sparano, “Amaya might have been our best special teams player last year.”

Now the Saints hope he can make a similar contribution in New Orleans.
