Why are some of you speaking as if the jets really have a chance in hell of making it to the Superbowl?! Rex Ryan is a loser just like his Dad was, his brother is the only one in that family that is a half way decent coach, and probably because he doesn't have his Dad's mouth like Rex does!

Yikes, have you ever been to Houston?

First, half of the top 10 cities with the worst air quality are in northern California. Houston isn't even in the top 10. Second, Houston is home to some of the smartest citizens in the United States. We have some of the top hospitals, engineers flock to come to Houston, ect. We're also home to the "Harvard of the South", Rice University. Third, we're among the most culturally diverse cities in the country. Get your facts straight.

From all accounts Nnamdi is a quality person along with being a great cornerback. Some one you want on your team.

I just don't know why he would go to a classless team like the jets.

Houston needs alot of help in their secondary and that have some talent on that team, they are on the cusp to be playoff bound.

Money + Team on the Rise + Professional Organization = any team but the jets or raiders!

steeelfann says:

Let’s see….

Nnamdi’s agent looks at New York vs California vs Texas:

San Fran: Stupid taxes, bad team
NY: Stupid taxes, less cap room
Houston: No State Income taxes, huge cap room,
on cusp of playoffs

Boom: Hello Houston, it is Nnamdi

-------------------------------------------------------------Take a closer look at Texas.

Worst education system, biggest polluter, worst air quality, dumbest citizens, one of the poorest states, worst justice system. Not a friendly place to be an intellectual, aspiring actor or a black man.

SF and NY are much more appealing places to raise a family. Smarter people, more culture, better restaurants and a lot more to do. In NY he can make a lot more money in advertising and prepare for his career after football more than making up his loss in salary.

SF certainly has the climate, culture, lifestyle and atmosphere that would be appealing to Aso. Those things would be hard for him to give up to move to NY. Hence the reason for wanting to find a way to make SF work for himself.

While Houston may be an oasis in the desert and one of the few liveable places in Texas along with Austin its hard to imagine a man who as progressive as Aso voluntarily moving to Texas.

I have seen some posting on Jets boards that the Texans have given up on Aso and have shifted their attention to Joesph. No links provided so it may be just wishful Jet fan postings. Or it could be maybe Aso is just to expensive in comparison to Joseph or a lot of the interest is just Aso's agent trying to drive up his price.

The situation sounds pretty fluid with no real info either way other than the likely candidates are SF, The Jets and the Texans. Is he delaying a decision to just drive up the price or is he really having that tough a time making a decision?

The Texans need Asomugha a lot more than the Jets and will overpay to get him (if they're smart). The Jets have Revis Island and can cheat the safety to help whoever is playing CB2--not ideal, but still better than most. Why in the world would you pay this kind of money for a player to cover the other team's #2 WR?

The literal reading of revis' contract is ineeded less but in reality the numbers are not higher than Revis.

Revis deal in reality is not a 4 year deal but a 2 year deal at 16.1 million per year that will be redone next year. Years 3 and 4 salaries drop off but Revis has the hole card that he cannot be franchised or restricted. Many people have said they expect Revis to ask for and get a new deal before the start of next year or he will simply play out his contract and test the FA market.

The contract Revis signed was a terrible deal for the Jets. Tannenbaum has admitted it. But the Jets were desperate to end his holdout last year.

nfaftw says:
3 things to note here.

1. Media hates that Texans are in lead, as they want to hype up the Jets so bad for Nnamdi.
2. Jets fans say they wont need him, claiming that Sanchize will lead the team to a ring. Good one.
3. 3 straight years of guarantees will be 3 straight years of failure for Fat Ryan.. Time will come when those idiot jets fans started hating him for coming up short.

-----------------------------------------------------
actually, nfaftw, make that 4 things to note...

4. I am a Dolphins fan tired of seeing "that other team" get all the press and reading stories about all the free agents wanting to be part of Rex Ryan's team.

NOW your list is complete.

Rex won't be hated, numb nuts. When it all is said and done, the TEAM wins the games, not the coach. Rex has bravado, Rex is boastful, and he is a NY Media delight. Everyone eats this up! Jets fans are excited that their team's coach believes in the athletes and gets them fired up.

But thanks for predicting how you think we will feel. I needed a chuckle in the middle of a long work day.

Anyone hear any news about him staying in Oakland? I'll be sad if he leaves. If he does go anywhere though, I hope it's Houston or Baltimore. Anywhere but the Jets and the Cowboys.

Nnamdi could come in and help Houston finally beat able to beat the Peyton Manning's...I mean, the Colts.

Best of luck to wherever he goes.

People act like the Texans are the Lions of a few years back. Do I think the Texans are better than the Jets - No. But we are close.
Listen to these pro-bowlers who will be healthy this year.

1. Matt Schaub
2. Arian Foster
3. Andre Johnson
4. Owen Daniels
5. Vonta Leach (If he resigns)

6. Mario Williams
7. Brian Cushing
8. DeMeco Ryans
9. **Add Nnamdi
10. Add Another D-line If Nnamdi comes everyone is better.

The Texans are no slouch.

We also now have a proven D- Coordinator. We know what the offense can do.

We can pay his salary, no state income tax, warm weather.

He can have his cake and eat it too here in HOUSTON!

Bucs gm came out with a statement about how the teams formula is about not paying overpriced free agents and building through the draft.

Who knew Mark Dominik was so smart?
