Von Miller agrees to terms

We like this new setup with the rookie wage scale: No drama negotiations.

No. 2 overall pick Von Miller agreed to terms Thursday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.  John Elway quickly confirmed the news on Twitter.

Miller missed the first day of practice Thursday, but he should be on the field Friday.  Most top picks have been getting their highly reduced contracts almost fully guaranteed.

UPDATE: Second round safety Rahim Moore also signed.

    I’m hoping to see a flurry of first round pick signings before the weekend. Gotta get these guys into camp.

    Love this pick still. The Broncos have another practice tonight at 6 Mountain time. So why would he now wait until tomorrow?

    Yippee another Drafted Rookie Signs. Are we surprised? Its a rookie wage scale. There is nothing exciting about a Drafted Rookie signing anymore.

    Miller signed his contract then went right back to unloading grain sacks down at Delbert’s Feed & Seed Store.

    The fans like the new system too. A rookie shouldn’t hold out for weeks to get an extraordinary contract he hasn’t earned yet.

    Well I like it, but I’d think it would be way better for PFT to have long drawn out drama filled negotiations.

    Does a rookie need an agent or do they just need an attorney to look over the contract? 3% for slotted pay seems ridiculous to me.

    I know it is bad karma, but I hope this kid is a bust. Anyone willing to sue the people he is trying to work for does not deserve a place in this league.

    Rookies were sold down the river. Big time. Football is the least attractive team sport for young athletes to try to make a living at this side of water polo. Even though it is the most popular and biggest revenue generating sport in the country.
