Getty ImagesYear after making his name running out of the back of the end zone, Dan Orlovsky has run out of time in Houston.
The Texans cut the backup quarterback Friday after signing Matt Leinart to a relatively pricey contract for a reserve this week. Leinart chose more money in Houston over a chance to start in Seattle, but we can’t kill him for it.
He would have been a big underdog in Seattle anyhow. In Houston, he has the best chance to succeed and potentially rehab his value if he ever gets in the lineup.
Orlovsky held off Leinart last year, but never threw a pass in two years with the Texans.

Two losers… butI would have gone with the cheaper one.
Hopefully Leinart never hits the field. For once as a TEXANS fan I can honestly say PLAYOFF’S…
WERE TALKING PLAYOFFS…
Sad thing is, Orlovsky’s better than Leinart.
Miami still needs a QB.
And Orlovsky sounds like a typical decision they’d run out the back of the end zone to make.
Leinart…….fire up the hot tubs, and let’s C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E good times…C’Mon.
I remember years ago this friend of mine who’s a Texans fan was upset that the drafted Mario Williams with the first pick, he wanted Leinart so bad
Can you imagine…..
idc about either of these guys. T.J yates from UNC is actually better than most think imo. He did throw to the likes of Hakeem nicks and brandon tate. An he threw it to them pretty well
Orlovsky didn’t look bad in his few games with the Lions. He deserves a chance somewhere.
Glad Leinart didn’t sign with Hawks. Don’t want someone who would rather hold a clip board knowing he has no chance of getting on the field except through injury instead of going into a situation where had a chance to beat out two unimpressive QB’s in CW and TJack. No heart, no guts.
Orlovsky is a solid backup. This isn’t the end of the road for him.

I find numerous parts of this statement questionable…..
First, I know of numerous Texans fans who were mad that the team drafted neither hometown hero Vince Young, nor consensus stud Reggie Bush…..but I’ve never heard of any Texas fan upset about them not drafting Matt Leinart. Particularly with the #1 pick.
Based on these findings, I also find your having a “friend” specious.
RING RING….
Hello?
Hey Dan?
Yes?
Hey, it’s coach Carroll.
Oh hey coach, what’s up?
Nothin’ much. Just uh, yeah, we’re making a run at the title this year, and….
mrcosio has no friends? FOREVER ALONE
If it wasn’t for the end zone snafu, I think he would be more respected. He isn’t a bad player, with the right people around him…
Orlovsky was given more chances then Bob McNair has given Kubiak to succeed.. He showed flashes of brilliance and then would pull a bone headed play. If Schaub went down last year for any length, all indications were that Leinart would have started…
After watching Orlovsky in preseason last year, it was pretty painful so this is not surprising.

Leinart reminds me of the back-up QB who starred in that TV series Blue Mountain State.
