Silverstein missed on that one…Chillar was cut because he’s ALWAYS hurt, not just now, and they need to clear cap space. #silversteinfail.

I love all the “juiced” comments against our stud ClayMath! With the stringent testing policies there isnt one player in the NFL that will be able to sneak past the sytem, not even with a “wizzinator”. So just keep complimenting the pure physical animal he is. The only doctor ClayMath needs to have contact with is the one that is going to help carry off all the opposing quarterbacks he faces this year.
Lets get ready for some “PackBall!” It should be another “Super” season

I liked Chillar as a player but he has been hurt for four straight seasons. He’s a versatile player when he’s on the field and he has range and good size but you have to be on the field on Sundays. The Packers will have to move on for now and maybe they brong him back down the road. Wouldn’t surprise me if he heals up but he won’t get the big money.

Chillar was let go simply because there are younger, healthier, stronger & faster players that can be had ….. GB won without Chillar, Barnett & Popps in 2010 …… They’ll win again in 2011 & this year they won’t have to pay them either …… Sounds like a plan …..

the fact he pulled his hammy has no relation to wether or not there was a lockout. he wasnt a big producer IMO

Tully Banta Cain was injured last year. He knew that if he rested and then ramped up and had problems, it’d mean he needs surgery.

Being that he had surgery last week, he didn’t ramp up until…last week. That’s on him. He should have known in June after ramping up his workouts that something is still amiss. He was obviously eating donuts waiting around for stuff to happen.

While he was solid and made the occasional play, I was surprised when they signed him to the big extension a few years back. I thought they were overpaying him at the time, and I honestly don’t think that he was let go strictly because he hurt himself during the lockout. He was let go because they have someone better to take his position. He finished last season on injured reserve and they didn’t even miss him.

Is the Barnett cut official yet? Maybe the Packers should rethink that one now that they know Chillar reported with an injury. It would be nice to have one capable backup, even if he’s overpaid.
