Titans lock up Locker

Top ten picks continue to sign on with little drama involved.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports Jake Locker has agreed to a four-year contract worth over $12 million, with the league-legislated fifth-year option.

Getting signed on Friday allows Locker to participate in opening practices, presumably taking snaps behind Matt Hasselbeck.

  1. It’s odd, but refreshing, seeing these small dollar amounts for top picks. Earn it on the field, boys.

  2. This new rookie wage scale is awesome. Last year he would have gotten close to 50 million.

  3. I thought Hasselbeck (and all other free agents who changed teams) couldn’t practice until after the league year starts next week. But Locker can practice right away.

Drafted rookies/undrafted rookie signees can report now. I believe veteran free agents have to wait until the 4th.

Tennessee Titans: Everyone in Seattle’s new favorite team

hahahahahhaahahha, with Tarvaris Jackson as your starting qb for the seahags, I wouldn’t be so proud!!

Matt Has is 50 times the qb that TJoke is!!

    Ignorance at it’s best!!

  6. Difference between Locker and Humongous Growth Head Newton is that Jake is dumb but honest. Newt isn’t honest.

My point seems to have gone miles over your head.

Matthew is awesome. Best guy in Seattle sports since Edgar Martinez retired. Beloved by fans and media. Jake Locker has been a Seattle hero for the last 4 years. Level headed local kid with talent and work ethic that’s off the charts.

Both are in Tennessee, and Seattle has… nobody… to hold on to as the face of sports in their city.

    So…

Seattle fans are now Tennessee fans.

    Still confused?

You think the Locker is having a Homer Simpson “doh!” moment when he thinks back to that decision not to come out in 2010? I know he’s said he didn’t care about the money, but…ouch!

Here’s hoping he shows enough to score a nice second contract. Then we can all be happy!
